Most likely hereditary diseases do skip generations. My b/f's uncle is a doctor and has just diagnosed him w/ diabetes and his symptoms were the EXACT same as yours. Just follow your doctors orders and you can live with this. More than 2,000,000 people live w/ diabetes. Good luck to you and know that you are not alone!

You are showing symptoms of Diabetes. I'm a bit unsure of what your Doctor meant when he said your sugar would always be like that if you haven't been diagnosed with Diabetes. Its best you get the blood tests done as soon as possible. Don't panic though, even if you have diabetes, its not the end of the world. It just means you will lead a far healthier lifestyle. My husband has just been diagnosed with Diabetes and it was very scary at the time but now we have all the information it doesn't seem so bad.

You sound as if your pregnant...Most of my family are diabetic, but having these symptoms doesnt really confirm that you are. You are doing the right thing by going to the doctors and thats the only way your going to find out if you are or not. My mum never found out she was a diabetic until she was about 38, yet she'd had it all of her life, and they only found out when she had a blood test for somthing else, and they noticed that she was a diabetic. Strange isnt it? Generic diseases tend to skip generations, so it could be a possiblity for u.

Sounds to me like you should see another doctor that is more familiar with diabetes. Also sounds like you should check your blood pressure. You did not say what you blood sugar levels were so that is important and a fasting (eating nothing for 8 o 12 hours before testing) blood sugar gives the best results. Get a doctor that actually knows about diabetes as it is important to include or exclude it as a problem. You need to know.

If your sugar levels are high and running above 126, then more than likely you do have diabetes. And of course it will be the norm if not treated. Don't be afraid of testing for it. Be afraid of the disease if left untreated. It can hurt you a million times more than a little needle. And yes, it doesn't necessarily say anywhere that if your mother has diabetes you will too. My grandfather had it but none of his kids, me, my sister and 1 brother has it. Yep it skipped.

You might have it but you won't know for sure till the tests are done... If you do there is a lot that can be done. All these distressing symptoms can be allayed, you will feeel a lot better and will be able to live a normal life. Diabetes is not a death sentence far from it . It is very commonly inherited and can jump generations .. Don't worry unduly. You will be OK .

if he continues to tell you its high and so on and doesn't do something change doctors and find a good one. you are probably diabetic and yes extreme tired is one big one. you can't miss all what you describe is diabetics. and some doctors think well we can wait well its not you start watching what you eat now so the sugar doesn't go to high and keep it down below 100 all the time if you can't with diet then meds or s hots.

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.

Yes, there's a chance that it could have skipped a generation, *BUT* you need to get to the doc soon.
Those symptoms *are* consistent with diabetes, but no one will know for sure until you are tested.
Good luck, and getting on a high protein, low carb diet will help a lot! :o)
