Herpes won't mess up your fallopian tubes. Having herpes has NO affect on a persons ability to reproduce and does NOT cause sterility. Of course the outbreaks are painful and annoying and the virus is for life, but it doesn't have any long term effects.

The STDs that can mess up your fallopian tubes are the bacterial STDs like syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. Chlamydia for example, can spread into the uterus or fallopian tubes and cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) if left untreated. This happens in up to 40 percent of women with untreated chlamydia. PID can cause permanent damage to the fallopian tubes, uterus, and surrounding tissues. The damage can lead to chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and potentially fatal ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus).

If you are concerned you have a STD that may be affecting your fallopian tubes then get tested! Don't be embarrassed or ashamed, this is your health you are talking about! Just explain to your doctor that you would like to be tested for STDs and I'm sure they would be happy to have you tested. Good luck!

If your concern is how to ask the Dr. IF your tubes are messed up ...

There is a test that shoots dye into your uterus which can show if there is a clear passge for your tubes (HSG I think the test is called) .. they do this test often for women who have had eptopic pregnancies.

It is VERY uncomfortable, I had this done after a ruptured sptopic, to see how the other tube was effected...

Are you saying that you have had an STD for 2 years?? I'm not fully understanding your question, but I would schedule an appointment with an OB/GYN. Are you having yearly pap smears done?? If not, you need to start right away. This is an important part of being a woman and staying up to date with your personal health. Good luck to you!!

if your shy and dont like to talk directly, bring your questions and concerns on a piece of paper.read from the paper or just hand it to the md. then they can start the conversation.
