My mum and dad are going camping this weekend for two nights. It's my mum's first time, and I don't think my dad's been in over 20 years. Does anyone have any last minute advice I can give them, things to take, things to do, etc so that they'll think I'm a genius, and also so they don't come home early and ruin my plans.

If it makes a difference, they're going on a camp site with toilet facilities etc on site. And they're taking the dog with them.

Here are some successful Camping tips:

1. Bring plenty of bottled water, preferable Poland Springs Natural Spring Water.

2. Bring some strong cookware.

3. Bring plenty of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and put them all in containers that won't break or tear.

4. Bring plenty of granola and fruit.

5. Bring plenty of comfortable clothing and shoes, as well as necessities such as deodorant and Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Eucalyptus Bar Soap.

6. Bring more than one toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss.

7. Bring a camping kit, map, and compass.

"camping" can be divided into two categories: 1.car-camping, and 2. real camping. What your parents are doing is not really camping. Real camping is when you leave all of the things that make civilized life so comfortable and hike for a day to get away from civilized life. You don't have to worry about having a toilet as long as there is a tree nearby. Tell them to take some booze and sleeping pills if you don't want them to come home too soon.

Don't forget the dog food, leads and pooper scoopers.A stake to tie the dogs lead to so that he doesn't wander. and last of all his feeding and water bowls. Also a cool box to keep the food fresh, and if possible cook something before they go, so that it just needs heating through, Like stews, and curries, and chillies. which can all be heated in the one pot. (oh and cook the rice before they go too) Or buy the boil in the bag rice to cook when they get there. Also pkts of pasta are great they just need milk to cook
them in a pot.

that is not really camping, if they are at a site, then they don't have to worry about anything. They will be close enough to stores to go and buy anything that they think they might need. I wouldn't worry about it, and have fun with the party your throwing

If mosquitoes or other insects might be a problem, suggest they take along a garlic bulb. Enjoying one garlic clove orally will certainly block all insect discomfort instantaneously. Never fails ........................
