It is possible. There is a school of thought that says that the chemicals that are used to prepare bedding and carpeting (which includes chemicals like formaldehyde) are bad for your health. Some sensitive people do suffer from breathing problems as a result of these chemicals.

So, how do you fix this if you're in a room with no windows? Many people use a box fan or other fan to move fresh air into the room and stale air out.

It's bad for your health because it can reduce the oxygen level in one's blood thereby triggering off some diseases in some people with health problems.A person can also have stuffy nose as a result of doing this.
