You seem to be stating your opinion as if its fact, this question is just not helpful
Maybe it should be in order of popularity as the majority of the vegetarian and vegan collective is vegetarian ( by about 50 to 1 last time i saw any stats )

Edit: TO be honest, i don't think i was rude. i think you are confusing rudeness with you not agreeing with my answer.
1) I state this question is just not helpful - yep, i stand by that because your question states that vegans are better than veggies. Who are you to say this ?
2) my second para was a statement of fact with an alternative suggestion based on that fact
3) you deserve para 3 ( as a joke ) because you say vegans are higher up the chain than veggies. Again, who are you to state this ??
You are 17, who are you say you are better than someone who has been running vegetarian businesses to promote our beliefs and has been doing so for over 25 years. Why are you better ? What exactly have you done for the cause of V&V that makes you better ?

I guess with so many trolls ( and ashley ! ) around i don't know why you had to try and drive a stake between 2 factions of broadly similar beleifs. Many veggies abstain from dairy and never use animal products as well you know ? Its not only vegans. I eat hens eggs that pick from the floor from my own rescue hens who are free to do what they want, that makes me a veggie. Why are you better than me and higher up the "order of precedence". At least i've a proven records of saving many farm animals lives by my own direct action and putting my money where my mouth is and allocating land for them with no return.

I actually don't care what order it's in. I think that is serves a purpose being how it is now... Here's why.
we already get the some trolls in here... but if you put vegan first... we will get more for two reasons. (1) veganism seems to draw more animosity than vegetarianism. vegans are the "radical nutjobs" as most trollies see it. If it is first... then this will be considered a militant forum by more trolls... I can here it now. (2) the vegetarian serves as a guard against the worst of the trollies. vegan is a five letter word and isn't that big.... at least vegetarian keeps the dumbest of the trolls out... It has 10 letters and that serves as a shield to all the trolls who can barely read and get halfway through the name before their brain shuts down and flashes white. lol

We should be first to the mess hall, too. After all the vegetarians are through with it, what do they leave for us? A trough of yogurt, a block of cheese, the omelette bar... but they've gone and eaten all of our falafel and cheeseless pizza!
Michael H is right though, while the vegetarians are on the front lines fighting the battle, we're always sneaking off for celery and hummus breaks. So I think it evens out.

I don't really know or care. I mean, it's all in the effort to reduce suffering, right?
I already think of it as "vegan & vegetarian" just because I am vegan, and veganism is what I think of first.
Vegans are really no better than vegetarians. We're just different people with different morals (though I think everyone should just give up the cheese!).
