I've found TVP at http://www.waltonfeed.com and http://www.harmonyhousefoods.com

The prices on these web sites seem competitive. Are there better places to purchase TVP from, either pricewise or tastewise? Also, if anyone has had experience with the taste of the products from either of these web sites, please share your culinary experience. Thanks!

I get mine at my Bulk Food store by the pound, or at a health food store in packets.

Try and find a health food store that sells bulk items, ones that you can fill your own bags.

But it keep only if it is in a tightly sealed container and lasts up to 6 months, I use it in chilis, spaghetti sauce, as a meat alternative in cabbage rolls and stuffed peppers, lasagna and even veggie sloppy joes, if you give it a slight fry to toast it and add you spices to meld the flavours, in most dishes a diehard meat eater would be hard pressed to tell it is not meat.

I am a former chef and make something once a week with it, I am a diabetic and try to eat 50% vegetarian most of the time, and it is easy with a product like this.

Most natural food stores have them, and so does my local Whole Foods. You can also buy it online--just find the best price for you.
