is it best to cut down first, then give up...or just give up completely?

Women are usually more addicted to the behavior of smoking than the nicotine. cut the behavior cold turkey, and replace it with something else. Drink ver cold water out of a straw (lots of oral stimulation there), Take up some new hobby that is sensual and will busy your hands (like knitting).

Make a special resolution that if you *must* break down and smoke, you will not do it in the places where you usually smoke, like on the phone, or as a break. Practice resting *without* the excuse that you need 10 minutes to burn something in your mouth.

If you smoke one, don't decide the day is a loss, and smoke for the rest of the day. Just do not have another one. Every cigarette you do not smoke is a win, and every one you do smoke is not the end of the effort.

Most people who quit "cold turkey" do not *really* just one day have not another single cigarette. They usually fall back now and then for awhile. You probably will too.

Quit anyway :)

You should always try cold turkey first.

The patch's help alot.

Put a patch on, before you go to bed, then when you wake up, the nicotine will already be in your system, and you won't want a smoke.

Make sure you buy some small lolly pops, so you have something to suck on.
