well i was hoping to find people with serious answers, but it seems other peoples lives are jokes.

my mother recently (thursday the 16th) had open heart surgery (valve replacement) due to a leak in her heart. a week later she had an ICD (defibrillator) put in.

it just seems like it was just too soon of an operation after open heart surgery.

anyway, she was discharged 3 days after the ICD was installed and she was doing fine. the following day, she nearly fainted while using the restroom and scared me half to death. i just dont think it was a right move to implant the ICD so soon.

The fainting was probably due to her meds and not the defibrillator.

They've been using these since the fifties. They control and regulate the heartbeat. Whatever happen to your mom probably had something to do with her condition and not the ICD. I would let the doctor know right away but, these are questions to ask him, not us, that's probably way you got a lot of nasty responses. people are like that.
