The condom will have protected you from contact with menstrual blood so you should be fine.

For others, though it is important to note that most of the answers given are incorrect.

Menstrual blood is not necessarily safe......HIV ANYONE?

Anytime blood is involved, the risk of HIV transmission greatly increases assuming the woman is HIV+. Hep C is only transmitted from blood-blood contact, there are a variety of infections that could result if the woman has them.

But condoms for penetrative sex and dental dams for oral-vaginal/oral-anal sex allow you to have sex regardless of the particular time of the month.

But in your case, rest assured....the condom did its job!

You got nothing to worry about on your side. After all the girl already told you that she had just finished her period. The blood you have encountered is the last of her period.

It's okay to have sex while a woman is on her period. Most people prefer NOT to have sex while the woman is bleeding though because it can be messy and not to mention pretty gross.

If you are concerned you might have contracted a STD from her then go and get tested by your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry! Take care!

No, there is nothing especially dangerous about menstrual blood, and if you were using a condom correctly, you should be reasonably safe from any STD anyway.

No worries. If she was at the end of her period, that explains it. There are no risks involved with menstrual blood, and you used protection as well.
