My throat isn't bad, just when I wake up. Then it hurts a bit on and off during the day.

Please have a throat culture to eliminate the possibility of strep throat. The presence of "white stuff" at the back of your throat on one side (the tonsil area?) may indicate you need some antibiotics. It could be a number of things, and it may just need to work itself through, but please let a doctor check you to be sure.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Poor thing. Go to the doctor. Sometimes they're no help, though.

If the doctor says "its a virus," or something equally unhelpful, then you will simply have to get yourself more rest, and try eating a really healthy diet that includes fresh fruits and veggies, simply prepared meats, lots of healthy fluids like water (avoid the ice, too cold water isn't really very good for us), and avoid junk food and soda. If you want to indulge a bit, make a simple homemade dessert, like meringue cookies or something, without too many ingredients.

And get enough rest. In bed is best (in front of the computer isn't restful, and in front of TV isn't much better, sorry).

...it sounds kind of like you might have mononucleosis. You should probably go see a doctor to be sure.
