What are some low calorie frozen vegetarian dinners that are actually good? I don't do the whole microwaving in plastic thing...it can cause cancer, so I am looking for something I can cook on the stove or in an oven!

Amy's Kitchen has some very good frozen things, most of which are best in the oven. It's all organic and vegetarian (even free of eggs) and she has a lot of vegan options too. Cedarlane is another good brand, they even make a stuffed foccacia bread with veggie pepperoni.

Amy's has really good choices. Also Kashi has a frozen pesto pasta meal that is really good. Sometimes making your own is not an option, so it's nice to know there are a couple of good choices that aren't full of the same things that conventional frozen dinners are.

If you're looking for convenience frozen food, check out Amy's Kitchen (www.amys.com). She has "bowl" entrees, enchiladas, a couple of Thai entrees, Indian entrees, pizzas--lots of good stuff. Most of it can be cooked in an oven.

Or you can cook some stuff and freeze it for later.

Amy's stuff comes in cardboard trays instead of plastic. It's not necessarily low calorie but it's not full of junk either. And it's all super yummy.

It depends on what you call low calorie. I love Amy's Kitchen...averages 350 calories a meal.

Honestly I haven't found many - Trader Joe's has the best options - if there is one near you shop there. My real recommendation is you learn to steam and stir fry it is quick, healthy and you use fresh ingredients so it is much healthier. Good Luck!

skip the freezer foods in the store. make your own and package them so that they keep well frozen. this way, you always have something to grab for work or to eat in the evening that is fresher and tastier.

I don't recommend frozen food at all. Most if it has so much sodium and weird stuff in it. It's so much better to make it fresh!

why? that defeats the purpose of being vegan doesn't it?

fresh produce, no dairy, no animal.

frozen has no nutritional properties.. nor does canned. and both are highly questionable in case you happen to come across "vegan".

most processed foods have animal product or product from an animal.
