You probably just irritated the skin and that is why it looks so bad now.
A pimple can NOT "turn into" herpes. Pimples are just a build up of bacteria underneath the skin. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/herpestreatment2015VnWK
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Actually to the James L a cold sore is herpes of which every one already has it may just not be activated yet (lucky them). if you give someone oral sex in this time, not knowing if it is a sold sore or just a zit, you r at serious risk of giving them the virus. i believe it is probably just a zit but just be on the safe side for both of yours sake.

i get zits on my lips often, basicly if it yellows up, its a zit and of course after that comes out, it will look red like a cold sore......
if it itches or doesnt go away in a week, could be a cold sore but I doubt it

what you have is a cold sore, if you get a yellow crust afterwards then yes it's a coldsore, and yes it's common, over 60% of americans already have hsv-1 that's why a lot of people get cold sores, it's not a dangerous virus.
