Both my boyfriend and I took Chantix about 6 months ago. I took it for the first month and quit and my boyfriend needed to go on it a bit longer. IT WORKED WONDERFULLY! I still get a craving every now and then - mostly when drinking but I get threw it! I experiences an upset stomach when I didn't take the med with food and some crazy crazy dreams! but other then that I highly recommend it! I know several people who have started taking it and are not smoking and they were HEAVY smokers!

I smoked for 46 years and took CHANTIX to finally stop..(six months smoke-free now)....... you must take it with a FULL meal to avoid nausea..(the first couple weeks there's an increase in 'gas', but not with belly cramps and such.. )...... and yes, the dreams are vivid!... not scary so much as really life-like!... for instance, I dreamed I was smoking again... and woke up feeling guilty!!!.... I took it for the full three months, too... I didn't gain weight, either.... didn't make me want something else, like grazing the fridge... I used a bottle of water as my 'crutch'.... drank more water and actually am losing weight!!.... Chantix is well worth it if you've smoked for a long time.... the nicotine withdrawl is NOT THERE.... all you'll need is to change the HABITS.... I still want one when I sit down at the computer, after I eat, and while driving... but its easy to ignore now.....I just grab that bottle of water!...

I took it and it worked wonderfully!!!! The only side effect I had was an upset stomach, but there are meds you can take for that!!
Good luck!
