I guess the other respondent doesn't know that lox is salmon. It's one of my favorites for lunch or breakfast on a bagel w/ cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and capers. It's also good on top of toast with butter. You can add it to a salad. It also compliments very well with boiled potatoes w/ fresh dill and butter. This is making me hungry!

We use to eat lox, cream cheese & bagels, Yum! Don't know if that passes Jewish law or not but we're not Jewish.

traditional accompaniments are capers, red onion, tomato, plain cream cheese on TOASTED onion or plain bagel. anthing else is personal preference....use a rich colored good quality lox whatever you do....not one of the pale greasy kinds!!!
