Contrary to what people believe dogs do not naturally eat red meat. The same would propably not have happened if you gave her chicken. However you want to be skeptical about what you give her. BBQ sauces are high in sugar which is not good for a dog. Some could contain xylitol which can cuase insulin release in most species which can lead to liver failure. This insulin increase can lead to hypoglycemia. Dogs have very sensative stomachs and any change in food that is drastic can trigger for stomach upset. Stick to a high quality dry food to prevent her stomach from getting upset and to help scrape plaque and tartar off her teeth to prevent peridontis disease.

Not necessarily. Animals just have funny tastes sometimes.
My huge 16 lb cat eats any of the following if he gets the chance:
Banana peels, Grape stems, Raw okra, Tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, grapes, prunes, apple, Corn COB
many many other weird things
My other cat is a chocoholic/caobaholic, but I make sure to only give her a couple tiny pieces at a time. It's never hurt her.
TRUE STORY though, about vegetarian animal. There was a lion cub named "Little Tyke" who was orphaned and raised by people as a pet. Despite her owner's best efforts, Little Tyke REFUSED to eat ANY kind of meat. It was so picky that he rejected her milk if they even tried to sneak in ONE drop of blood into the milk. It never turned on people, but died of an ilness. While she was alive they used her for numerous "Lion and lamb" pictures. You know, how the Bible describes in heaven the lion lying peacibly with the lamb.. no more killing.
Serious, no joke. Google "Little Tyke"

It is not the veggies that your dog was after,it was the sugar.dogs love sweets. Now here is something you may not know. Before man domesticated the dog, they were more or less vegetarians.Dogs would hang out at camp sites, and Man would throw them scraps of meat, therefore dogs developed a taste for meat.Game was too large for the first dogs to kill so they were vegetarians but as they evolved, they developed canine teeth and became Carnivorous. Also, never feed your dog chocolate,it can kill them.

Dogs are Carnivores, this is a biological fact. Look into your dog's mouth. Those huge impressive teeth (or tiny needle sharp teeth) are designed for grabbing, ripping, tearing, shredding, and shearing meat.
Many people who feel that dogs need variety in their diets feed table scraps in addition to the regular diet. This is not recommended. Dogs are not people and are perfectly content to eat the same thing every day. Feeding table scraps can encourage the dog to become picky or finicky. Many table scraps can upset a dog's digestive tract and cause vomiting or diarrhea. This is especially true of spicy or fatty foods. In fact, fatty foods can induce a life-threatening disease called pancreatitis in susceptible dogs. Also, many adult dogs cannot digest milk products and will develop diarrhea if given them.
If you truly care for your canine friend, you will feed him a healthy dog diet to give hime many happy healthy years with you. And it is true, many bones may splinter and choke your dog. Especially chicken.
