Edit :- I guess all these thumb downers want to remain on insulin all life long because they are not ready to even think of a cure what a pathetic state of mind. My sympathies for these poor sick people beyond all hope addicted to medicine. Or is FDA and the Pharmaceutical industry paying them to do so. I feel pity for all of them.

I'm sure she's a complete Harpy now, but she once held you in her arms and felt more happiness than anyone else on earth at that exact moment If you think it's bad injecting her, think about how hard it is for her being injected, feeling afraid for her health. If it's a burden for you, teach her how to inject or find someone else who can take care of her or even share the job with another relative. If she's type 2 diabetic and already on insulin, it's unlikely the diet and exercise route will free her from injections but it will improve her response to treatment. Stopping her insulin will stop the sugar in her blood from being used by her cells. She will have no energy, she will feel very sick, her body will break down fat and muscle in an attempt to feed itself and she will eventually die. I know it's horrible having to do it (I've been injecting for 30 years) but you just have to ignore the irritation and do it if you can't find someone else to do it for her Take care & good luck (c;

Has she considered getting a pump? My daughter is doing much better on the insulin pump. Only one needle every three days instead of shots every few hours.

Type one diabetics can't abandon insulin injections. A type two MIGHT be able to stop injections provided they can still produce insulin. If so, then it's a matter of taking on a comprehensive lifestyle change. It involves losing weight, maintaining a healthy diet, and exercising regularly. If you want to learn more, I've provided a very helpful list of things you can do with links and it's free:

There is NO substitute for insulin.
You can ask the doctor about the new inhaled insulin and if it might be an option for your mother.
Never ever stop giving her insulin. She will die.

Good luck

I don't care what anyone on here says, there is no "NATURAL" cure to take the place of insulin!!!!!! Why take a chance with your health? You need insulin to help the body process the sugar. Stop it and she will eventually see the results and they won't be good.
