Yes. I was diagnosed with double pneumonia and put on two z-packs (consecutively). They didn't help so they put me on 16 days of prednisone which helped the pneumonia but now I'm dealing with the side affects.
Know that pneumonia is an illness with a LONG recovery period. The z-pack is strong and might work. Just depends on how serious your pneumonia is and the type of pneumonia and how you respond to it. Expect to be tired for many weeks and have symptoms.
Not trying to bum you out...I just wish someone would have told me so I could have known what to expect.
Good luck with the z-pack and keep communicating with your doctor if you don't see an improvement as he/she will probably have to alter treatment.

Feel better soon!

Yes it helped by the second or third dose for me. I am allergic to Penicillin and Ceclor, so that's about the only antibiotic I can take. I did experience stomach cramps and diarrhea the whole time I was on it though.

It sure helped me, convenient once a day too. It took about five days before I felt better.
