Silk is the best. Wal Mart's GV Brand Organic Soymilk is made by Silk and pretty much tastes the same. I prefer vanilla for cereal and smoothies and plain for cooking. ZenSoy makes a really delicious soy pudding. Turtle Mountain makes the best vegan ice cream, especially the Purely Decadent line. As for cheese, the best are powdered cheeses like Road's End Organics Mac and ChReese or Soymage Parmesan Topping. With these, you can hardly tell the difference. Try tofutti for cream cheese. I haven't really tasted a hard cheese product that was worth buying, but you can do just fine without them.

My fav Milk substitute is White Waves Silk Soy Milk, comes plain, vanilla & chocolate( in the fridge section)
Next is Almond Breeze Almond milk, same come in 3 flavors.
These both have a full body than Rice Milk & feel more like dairy. No the taste is no cow's milk.
I have allergies to soy & almonds & can no longer use these products, I stuck with the wimpy Rice Milk.

I like Soymilk a lot better than rice milk.. although I like both. My FAVORITE soymilk is either the vanilla Silk or the 8th continent light soymilk. they are yummy.
It's an aquired taste.. if you go into it expecting it to taste like milk.. you'll be disappointed... but its so yummy once you've been drinking it for a while. I can't hardly drink milk now.. it tastes kind of odd.. and besides that.. it hurts my stomach.
I'm not vegan.. or even vegetarian really... I just try to eat as healthy as possible.. and use meat and dairy very sparingly.
Good luck, and congrats on your healthy decision!

Try Soy Dream soy milk, or Silk. I personally think Soy Dream tastes a lot better. Soy milk is generally more nutritious than rice milk, and tastes a lot better. I especially like the chocolate Soy Dream flavor.

Soymilk, rice milk, almond milk. You can also buy ice cream made from these which are every bit as good as Häagen-Dazs (I got mine in the organic/natural section in Kroger). Vegan cheese is a little more difficult, but there are good ones out there. Just try a few. Don't buy the imitation "cheese food" though, it has rennet in it which is from a calf's stomach. Eggs can be replaced by banana, tofu, or other ingredients in many recipes. I am not sure if you can find actual vegan egg substitutes, though.

I usually don't drink plant milks, but if I do, I'll drink Silk Chocolate. For cooking, any soymilk works for me; I find that it's closest in texture to cows' milk.
If you have an extreme sweet tooth, you might like almond milk.

Do you want to build your share of the booming soya beverage market? ADM NutriSoy® Organic Whole Soybean Powder allows almost any dairy packer to produce a top-quality soya drink with existing equipment. Our powder is made using a proprietary process that eliminates the cause of soya off-flavours, instantly making your soya beverage one of the best-tasting brands on the market. It is made from 100% organic soya beans, giving your product label an added selling plus. And because it incorporates the entire bean you do not have to deal with the big problem with traditional soya ‘milk’ production, that is of discarding up to 40% of the bean as a waste stream. In NutriSoy® Organic Whole Soybean Powder you get all the whole soya nutrition, including the valuable okara fibre.
