How is it possible to watch a video about factory farming and then still eat meat? Do people not have any feelings for animals whatsoever? I just don't see how they can keep on eating meat when they know it is wrong.

jenny84, another one of your typical hatemonger responses. You have been reported.

jenny84, maybe if you spent as much time caring for your plants as you do hatemongering, then maybe your plants wouldn't have died.

I just don't get you Ashley. You post a question, and invite people to answer, yet because they don't agree with you then you report us all. Report us for what, answering your insane rantings? Have you been to a farm? Have you seen what happens on a farm? One final note Ashley, you ask if we can turn the page, because you just want peace and harmony and yet again, your peace and harmony is you calling us all hatemongers, racists, reporting us all and blah blah blah.

I don't see how, but people who work in the factory farm probably eat meat. So I guess they either don't care or they don't have any choice for another job.
My grandfather was Cockney; I don't know it was possible to write in a Cockney accent, so I'm not sure what jellbiz is talking about.
Would it be like this? "So I guess they bloody well don' care or they don' 'ave any bloody choice for another job."

I have just visited the PETA website and watched the video in question.
It is quite obvious from the footage that these were NOT taken in the UK, just by looking at the car models and farming equipment.
As I know for a fact that our animals are treated in a far better manner, I now challenge you to find absolute proof of this kind of behaviour being the norm in the UK, and until you can do so, please keep quiet.

How many times have you seen things on the television and been disgusted by it - only to find two days later half of it was wrong and the other half invented?
According to movies we have travelled through space to different planets and prevented major planetary disruptions (in the States anyway), and we all know that has never happened in reality.
Why should we believe the misguided rantings of a minority group such as PETA who only normally concentrate their attention on poorly developed third world countries in order to shock us, when we know from the majority that the truth is completely different.
I have 'no feelings' as you put it, for an animal that has been bred for a specific purpose as long as its treatment complies to all lawful and responsible guidelines, but would never tolerate the proven threat to an endangered species.
As far as being wrong - families that have eighteen kids and live of the state is wrong, not eating meat.

I donlt think it can be possible unless the person is totally heartless. you know the PETA video that shows about the horrors or farmed animals and shows that little pig getting...well I can't say it as Im choked up even typing it! but anyway after watching that I felt dirty and upset and even guilty even tho I don't eat meat and havent for nearly 6 years. The thought that I used to made me feel...*shudders*
People who are able to watch something like that truly are one of the unexplained mysteries of the world.
Tho I was talking to my mate and, as cynical as I was about this, she said that she doesnt associate what happens to them at the abbatoires with whats sat on her plate. Id have thought the sheer smell and look of it would have bothered her but whatever.

Well some people don't see it as wrong... not everyone thinks the way you do. This is hardly a question... it's just another ashley rant about how much better you are than everyone else. For god's sake, grow up troll!
Here's an answer you gave just now about someone asking which beers people prefere:
"Why would you put alcohol in your body? If you know drinking is wrong, then why do you do it?"
You really are oblivious to the fact that people have different opinions of what's right and wrong. Just leave everyone alone and go fart yourself up into space please.

Because people are blocked. Many of them, deep in their heart of hearts subconscious know it's not a good thing to eat meat, but they are addicted. It's a bad habit, and they cannot break it. And they harsh all over veg*ans as a self-defense mechanism so they won't have to think about the animal their food once was.

Ashley, after having read all your questions and all the comments you add to insult the people who reply, I have decided that you are not the kind of person we want here on Q&A.
Please leave.
When you ask a question, you are not supposed to insult and report all the people who have different views from yourself.

some people don't think it's wrong. a few family and friends of mine watched factory farming videos, and while their initial response was of sadness, they still continue to eat meat. some people don't think it's wrong. some truly believe it is perfectly okay to eat meat, arguing that God has given us these animals to eat or that it's perfectly healthy for us (despite the evidence).
meat-eating is so ingrained into our consciousness, so much a part of our society, that people lose sight that meat came from an innocent, living animal. the best we can do is lead by example.
