Statistically speaking, gay men are not more prone to getting AIDS. All you need to do is look at the numbers in Africa:
http://www.aidsandafrica.com/stats_country.htm
This is not just a gay man's disease. As reported in the 2005 UNAID report, 15 - 24 year olds account for half of all the new HIV infections in the world today. 10 Million youth are living with HIV/AIDS today.

maybe you need new research, gay men are no more likely to contract HIV ( not AIDS) then any other part of the population. The infection rate would depend on an individuals risk factors such as if there are other STD/STI involved, IV or inhalant drug use, multiple sex partners, use of protection, and amount of education the person has about prevention of STDs. The largest group of new infections are young adults regardless if they are straight, gay, or bi. Today, the numbers are about equal for all sexual orientations, but vary by ethnic backgrounds. Some populations are less open to information and protection methods.

Gay men are more likely to contract aids becausee of anal sex. There is a much higher risk of condoms breaking becaus of the friction in such a tight space. Also b/c in that tight space there are a lot of blood vessels and the friction causes them to bust easily. Gay men or anyone who engages in anal sex runs the risk of a lot of infections on top of the heightened HIV risk.

Actually, they are not more likely. Any unprotected sex with an infected partner can transfer H.I.V. which leads to A.I.D.S. The disease was first detected in hemophiliacs, who ghad recieved the virus through blood transfusions. Actual H. I.V. and A.I.D.S. has most likely been around for centuries. It was not indentified until the 1970's however.

Actually, they aren't.
The highest rate of infection belongs to heterosexual people from the teens to the 30s.
People are not practicing safe sex or they just think it won't happen to them.
It's a scary thought.
