Yes, they will want to look at your genital area to make sure it is a yeast infection, so they can provide you will proper treatment.

Don't be embarrassed. I can guarantee you that your doctor has seen it MANY times before. Yeast infections are VERY common among women and VERY easily treatable with some anti fungal medication.

Also, a yeast infection is NOT a STD. Yeast infections occur when there is an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. MANY different things can cause this. One of the most common causes of a yeast infection is taking antibiotics for an unrelated infection.

Good luck!

Naturally the doctor will have a look down there because you have yeast infection there. Where else do you want him to see? If you take yogurt everyday, you might not have yeast infection. You can apply yogurt [live culture] directly for a period of time then wash. Apply it often, as the live bacteria in the yogurt will killed the unfriendly bacteria that cause the infection. Do it, it cheap and nobody knows. You can read all about it in the internet about 'yogurt' and its benefits.

They are going to look down there, and get a sample form inside your vagina and then take it to the lab to test it
