Why? If they are happy being a veggie, then why is it up to you to make that person eat meat? Do they go around asking people how to make you become a vegan? I think it is a shame that you can't just let him/her be, why do you feel the need to force your ideas on to them?

The question is why would you want to?
Being a vegetarian/vegan is their own choice to make, not yours. It's never a good thing to force your own belifs on others, whether it's dietary, political or religious.
If this is because they're someone you care about, their happiness should matter more to you than whether or not they're a vegetarian. It's a rather small issue in life- I often cook different things for people in my house- there are compromises you can make as well.
I don't lean one way or the other on which dietary lifestyle is more healthy. I can see where both can be harmful, and where both can be healthful. However, forcing either viewpoint on another person (who thinks and lives independently from you) isn't right in any case.

If your friend truly believes that what they are doing is right then there is no way you are going to change them. It would be like someone who was very religious(Catholic for example) trying to be convinced by an atheist to not believe in God because of all the good evidence the atheist has. To the atheist their reasons are valid and important, to the Catholic the reasons would just be false. Saying meat is good and healthy is a mute point to most vegetarians because they know more about consuming meat that you probably do(for example they are probably aware of all the antibiotics pumped into meat, the chances of heart disease on a meat based diet, etc).
If the persons convictions are strong no amount of meat information, bbq's(I go to bbqs all the time and never ate meat), nagging, etc is going to work. You are simply going to alienate the person, if it was me I would tell a person like you if you couldn't respect my beliefs than maybe you should find another person to hangout with.

I suspect you might be asking this because you are concerned about their health? I also suspect you care about this person a great deal. If these are true statements, I'd like to suggested that you purchase a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle cookbook and help this person make some better choices. If you are living together, perhaps you can find recipes in which you can incorporate meat for your portions and leave out the meat for theirs. I don't recommend that you try and "talk" someone out of a personal lifestyle decision. But if you meet them half way, you will gain their respect and they may be more willing to openly discuss the issue with you. Good luck. You are a good person for caring about the health and well being of someone else.

I would not try. Once you quit eating meat you feel better and food is less costly. Studies have also shown that vegetarians live longer and eating this way leaves more food for the world where 18,000 kids die of hunger every day; it takes 5 times the grain calories to produce meat. So in other words, grain provides five times as much food for the same cost. There is such a strong case for being a vegetarian that I would not try to convert anyone back to meat. I am a vegetarian and love it for the above reasons and ain't nobody going to inspire me to regulary eat meat, what a turn off.

I think it's a sin to convert a vegetarian to a non-vegetarian. I think it's your tamasic qualities as a non-veg eater that has given you such lower level thoughts. Oh by the way, I am sure you are clueless about the word "tamasic" Do look it up. Maybe it will reform your thoughts. Stay away from meddling into others beliefs and religious sentiments.

i know tempt them with filet mignon let them get a little taste with some mashed potatoes with creamy butter and some gravy on the filet mignon and they will never go without meat again. Or let them try a nice piece of golden brown chicken and put spices like redpepper and italian herbs and they will beg you for another piece.

Somehow take away their morals and principals... It is sick that you would want someone to give up their ideals.
The question you should be asking is how can you develop a strong enough conscience that you can also live a vegetarian or vegan life style.

Why on earth would you want to do that? If the person concerned is a vegetarian, then that's their personal choice. You are obviously not a vegetarian; that's your choice, but why force your views on someone who is quite happy the way they are? Go well, and God Bless!
