You never really said if you were diagnosed with genital herpes or cold sores.
Cold sores can be contracted from kissing anyone who has them or sharing drinks, lip stick, chap stick, etc, with someone who has them. Most people get cold sores as kids from being kissed by relatives like their mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.
If you have genital herpes you might have it for the fact that he DOES give you oral sex a lot.
If he has cold sores or has ever had one then he has the herpes simplex virus. Cold sores are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1), but they can also be caused by herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2).
Cold sores can be passed to another person during oral sex, which would cause that person to develop genital herpes. If your boyfriend has cold sores and gave you oral sex, that could be the reason why you have genital herpes.
I was with a guy for a little while who had received oral sex from a girl who had cold sores. Because of this, he developed genital herpes, which I later contracted (he didn't tell me he had the virus).

The virus can be dormant a long time in your body. He still may get it or if his consciousness doesn't agree with it, he may never have an outbreak or show symptoms.

You were just diagnosed, and your boyfriend of two years is clean.
Did you cheat on him? You must have if you got herpes.

Did you see his text results or did he tell you he was clean? If you did not see the text results then maybe he lied and does not want to tell you. If you did see his text results go back and get re tested and tell your concerns to the doctor so that he/she may futher explain things to you.

Women have more mucous membranes exposed during sex than men. This is really not that uncommon. He should NOT be performing oral sex on you without a dental dam!
