well it depend on where you going an be doing on the camping trip, if you camp ping an fishing, , i say bring the thing you need to, cook the food,, , but the thing you would need beside a knave is a first aid kit,, , a liter is good to have with you, as the compass,

Just answering the food issue: get aluminum foil. Wrap potato quarters, carrots, smoked sausage, snap peas, and other assorted veggies in the foil. Freeze them until you leave then put them in the ice chest. When you're ready to eat, throw them in the fire. Make sure you bring something to dig 'em out though. Long grill tongs or something.

Bacon, eggs, coffee, potato, onion. Nothing can compare to camping breakfast whenever you make the meal. Decide what other things you want to eat and pre-prepare what you can.
Extra socks and shoes. Your pillow. no kiding. Paper towels, cuttlery, cooking utensils, deck of cards.....lots of things
have fun

WE like to bring cans of Dinty Moore stew,cans of beans. Blue Ribbon smoked beef sausage, (wrap in foil & put on grate over the fire) Don't forget bread and mustard. Enjoy!!!!!
