Well, I'm sure you mean cuke but I will answer the question as asked.
Back in the 1970's hispanics in Ca. were sometimes refered to as Chukes. A deragatory term.
A cucumber is a fruit that grows on a vine and is commonly served in salads.

Don't know what "chuke" is - but a "cuke" and cucumber are the same - cuke is just short for cucumber......however, sometimes, cukes are considered shorter and fatter than regular sized cucumbers you see in the stores......of course there are the English burpless cucumbers which often don't have seeds and are much longer and thinner than regular cucumbers.....

In the 1950's and, perhaps early 1960's, certain Hispanic men were referred to as "chukes". They were typically those whom we would associate with "cholo" types at the present. A sort of tough crowd.
