The garbage man is always leaving notes. How can I hide the recycles where he can't see them?

Look in your yard for another garbage can, a brightly colored one, maybe it's blue or yellow for instance. That garbage can will have a white triangle stamped on the side. Hide those recycle-ables in those cans. The garbage man can only see green or black garbage cans so when the garbage man comes he won't see them!
Now- here's the secret, when the garbage man's gone sneek those brightly colored cans out to the curb, especially whenever you hear a big truck that makes sounds of glass bottles being collected, and that's it! They magically empty themselves! Just remember to bring those empty colored cans back from the street so you can fool your garbage man again in the future! Good luck.

It would take alot less effort to put them in the recycle bins (like everyone else does) instead of trying to hide them and look like a fool at the same time. The garbage man is not the only one that notices you don't recycle, all you neighbors do to. One weekend they are going to have a block party and they will not invite you, because they remember you as the little chicky that does not recycle!!!!!!!!!!!

Every one who answered "place it in the blue box " or whatever is a fake. I have seen even the extremists toss a plastic bottle in a regular trash can without thought. Let me guess, you want to do the right thing but don't have the blue box thingy and or never got one. Maybe you're trashing more than just plastic bottles...tree limbs and yard scraps? Trash piling up and want to figure out how to get rid of it? The answer is that not all communities provide the blue tote with the funky triangle. We get notes or the trash left behind because the trash men/women have rules to abide by. Sometimes they're too freegin' tired and could care less and use the rule that doesn't apply to them as an excuse, but that's another story. Some communities have roadside trash pick up on the weekends. If you see large piles of trash in your neighborhood one day and gone the next, then you have road side pick up. If you see large trash piles and it's the same crap from last year, you should consider packing up the trailer and moving else where. If you just want to hide your trash because you're lazy ...you need to grow up and face the music. Whatever the choices may be, you have a solution, you just haven't been there to see it.

The red recycling bins are $2 or $4 at the Sanford Town garage they have two sizes and will need to see proof of residence in Sanford(usually your vehicle registration). The towns of Sanford/Springvale pick up recycleables every other week and a pick-up schedule is available at the garage or the dump as is a list of what is& isn't recycleable or permissable in the trash(dead animals etc).

First of all, I find this ridiculous, How could you even think that its ok to not recycle? I recycle, and I'm lazy.... LOL. Anyway you need to hide your recycleables, in that little box that the garbage company gave you, BTW, in most places its illegal to not recycle, and you can actually be fined up to 500.00 and thats just for the first time, so I ask, do you have time to go to the court house, argue with the judge, and do you have 500.00 to just waste?! I hope not, if you do then your just pathetic....

I have TWO garbage bins together in my kitchen. One for regular garbage and the other for the recyclables. The trick is getting into the habit of remember what goes where.

You are lucky that all you get are notes from your garbage man. Here, we'd get a hefty fine after the first infraction.

So please do your part and recycle. Years down the road, you'll be thankful you did.

Here's an idea: why not try doing the right thing and actually recycling recyclables??
Believe it or not, a lot of people are just too lazy and stupid to recycle, but you actually invest more time and energy in trying to hornswoggle the garbage man! How clever!

Shame on you Liz.

Didn't you know?

You cannot hide your recyclables from the garbage man.

Just be glad you even have the option to "hide" it or put it in the proper bin. We have one bin ... a big green one on wheels that says "trash". No glass bin, no paper bin, no plastic bin. I don't know of ANY trash pick up companies in my county who offer curbside recycling options. We do have "recycling centers" ... they are few and far between and extremely inconvenient to get to, especially since they are not 24/7 bins. (Again, isn't THAT stupid ... we can only recycle from 9-5?)

Be glad you have a garbage company that assists you in your recycling efforts. Just hide your recycle-ables in the appropriate bin instead of the trash bin. :-)

Hey, just take the time to sort out your recyclables and put them in the recycling bin. Kudos to your garbage man for leaving you notes! It's not that much effort to sort your recyclables and you are doing so much to save our enviornment when you do.
