You're right it is name not after Julius Caesar but Caesar Cardini. I didn't know that and I didn't know that my "dream girl", Salma Hayek is originally from Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico and not Tijuana as you mentioned earlier. You learn a lot from Yahoo Answers (shameless plug).

Because Caesar is an Italian name and it comes with an Italian type of dressing. Has other Italian items, the parm cheese and Italian olive oil.

Not true! I have a jacket and several purses that came from TJ.
Also it's Salma Hayek. And Cesar salad. It's people that spell it like the Romans that make other people think it's italian.

They think because Julius Caesar, and Caesar Augustus were emperors of Rome, which was located on the Italian peninsula, it is Italian.
