Yes, a vegetarian diet or vegan diet is about the healthiest diet there is (if done correctly). It's so much healthier than a carnivorous/omnivore's diet.

Now, I have to disagree with the end of your question. Nobody is born a carnivore. I mean, there are kids out there who have been raised veg by their parents since the day they were born! So not everyone is born a carnivore, just a lot of people are.

But you can still be extremely healthy if you eat meat, maybe not red meat, but meat like chicken and fish. But for most people, health is not the reason that they go veg, they do it for animal rights.

Hope this helps!

People have never been born carnivores.

We are all omnivores, vegetarians just happen to be omnivores that choose to not eat meat.

To be honest your arguement is flawed because you describe your choice to eat meat as a "need". This already presents a bias to the answer you are expecting.

There is no need to eat meat or slaughter by-products. Millions of healthy vegetarians are proof of this.

Also, the arguemnt thats its "natural" is completely flawed. There is nothing natural about the meat industry, the artificial growth hormones or any aspect of meat rearing.

If you choose to run around the forest hunting rabbits with your bare hands and eating them raw then you might have an "its natural" arguement but until then, i don't think it will ever stack up.

People aren't born carnivores. Most people in this world eat meat because they were raised too but the human anatomy is based on a vegetarian diet instead like our teeth and the way our intestines are shaped.
Meat is not better for you. Some vegetarians don't eat healthy so it may seem that meat would be better but it's not. Ones that don't fry everything our faster, healthier, stronger, and smarter than meat eaters. And that is proven in scientific researches.

Humans are not born carnivores. Humans are born omnivores. Their digestive system is designed to process both meats and vegetables/fruits. Similarly their teeth are a compromise for tearing, biting and chewing. Humans are designed to eat either or both. The trick for a fruit/veggie diet is sufficient protein intake. But nature has provided an array of veggies that in the right combinations can substitute nicely for meat proteins. Meat eaters that do not eat enough meat fats (many vitamins are fat soluble only) must consume a variety of fruits/veggies for proper nutrient intake. Blubber is why Inuits and other extreme north peoples don't get scurvy. So it is a matter of choice or necessity.

Well firstly humans are not carnivores, humans are omnivores.

Theres an saying that goes, just because something has always been done that way is no to continue doing it that way.

I mean sure if there is some other valid reason, then by all means. but if they only reasons is because thats the way it is, then i wouldnt trust it and would find out for myself.

Meat slows down your system and reduces the effectiveness of your digestive system.

The over consumption of protein can lead to depletion of certain trace elements and ultimately osteporosis.

The over consumption of saturated fat can lead to many health issues, acselorosis, heart disease, obesity.

Much commercial meat is laden with chemicals and hormones from the questionable farming techniques used to get animals to grow in days/weeks rather than months/years, many of these hormones are very bad for humans, they are linked to obesity and to over feminisation of men.

I stopped eating meat after reading facts about this kind of stuff, about reading facts about the body and how it processes food and what nuitrients it requires.

I only intended not to eat meat for 30 days to see how it felt, but i could never go back. regardless of the long term health benefits the increase in metabolic and digestive effectiveness has made me feel incredibly better. ive lost fat and gained muscle, i have more control of my blood sugars and dont get tired very often, and i can eat much more than i used to on a meat based diet.

if your interested then i suggest just start reading. wikipedia is a great place to start, if only to read the source articles.

food science is interesting as hell and it helps a lot to know about it when your trying to eat well.

It's an interesting assumption that you make. I'm the parent of a toddler, and my wife eats meat and tries to give him some. The doctors tell us to give him meat because he is underweight.

But he generally wants nothing to do with it. He likes blueberries and chocolate and milk and grits and beans and yummy stuff like that.

So are we born carnivores (I think you really mean omnivores)? I don't know. It's certainly not in our make-up to eat a big serving of meat at every meal. That's been shown beyond a doubt to be an unhealthy pattern of living.

And it seems natural because you are given it from a young age. Its the same thing as being told not to eat meat.

Unless from a young age you saw cows in a field and wanted to run over, kill them with your nails (or for carnivores hard claws) and teeth (despite them being blunted, like other herbivores) and eat the raw flesh with the blood pouring down your face.

humans are born omnivores, not carnivores.

humans are not hunting and gathering anymore for food. all the food for us in western civilizations is provided for us in supermarkets or something of that nature. eating meat is socialized into us now. unless you're raised by vegetarians, you're more than likely eating an omnivorous diet because that's what your parents eat and that's what they taught you to eat. most of the people around you probably eat meat too so it seems natural. it has nothing to do with survival anymore.
