ok i'm a vegetarian and i get a lot of house pests such as spiders, moths etc. i don't know any tricks to catch them so i end up vacuuming them up or accidently hurting them where i am scared of them i don't pick them up properly. so because they are damaged i kill them quickly to end their suffering.
any suggestions on saving the poor souls and setting them free safely???

With spiders, fire ants and flies.... I swat them. I'm not so concerned about me but my wife and my dogs...The cats I don't worry about as they take care of their encounters "in house," the dufus doggies.... not so much. I had one of my dogs very sick and well over $1500 in vet and hospital bills from a bite that almost killed him. I also swat mosquito's... I live in Texas and they often look like a bus. Sometimes I do take them outside, but I don't loose sleep over it if it happens that I smash, flush or swat them. But I have not always felt that way... I used to have a pet tarantula named "gravy" and I used to play with him and let him crawl all over me. None the less, I have been well informed that if there is ever a large spider brought into my house... the both of us are doomed.

I will kill roaches, flies, ticks and fleas; I don't particularly like doing that, but I don't feel I have a choice--there is a risk of spreading disease. I have a dog.

You can laugh if you want, but I say "Salaam aleykum" (Arabic for "peace be upon you") for everything I kill. I don't know if it helps them any but I fell a little better.

I don't kill moths, spiders, ants, etc., if I can help it. I either leave them alone or catch them with a plastic cup or something and put them outside. I will try to let flies outside if possible, but they are hard to catch. I only had ants in my house once, I poured table salt on the floor by my door and they stopped coming in.

I stongly recommend the electronic pest repellers. When I was TDY in Texas the first three nights I woke up to pervert cockroaches in my bathroom. I got one of those and viola, they were no more. Now I have them in my whole house and I have not seen but an occasional tiny spider or fly in the house in three years. They emit a high pitched noise that keeps the bugs, rats, and even snakes at bay. You can get a set of five for about $15 and they last forever.

Having actually done some of the killing, I don't have a problem eating meat. I didn't "enjoy" it, but it had to be done. We always tried to kill the animal quickly and cleanly to reduce any suffering. Much more humane than coyotes that eat the rear haunches of a sheep and leave it alive, don't you think. Carnivores are omnivores are not evil, it is just the way of live and death. There is NO shame in being what we were created to be.

buy dixie cups and when theres an instance like that, get 2 of them and close the cups in on it so thats its stuck between the cups. if it's on a wall then just put 1 cup over it, tilt it, and quickly put your hand or another cup over it. go outside and a little past your house so it can't makes it's way back in and let it free. :]
i've tried putting them on a piece of paper and carrying them down but i get to scared thar theyll jump on me (i dont kill them, im just afraid of them) or something so i use this method and it works fine.
one time there was a fly i caught witha napkin but i dropped it and i acidently smushed it a little and my cat ended up eating it. eww.

You can use a cleaned out deli cup (the kind you get at the grocery deli counter). Just poke a few airholes in it with a nail or tack and you can just usher the little critters into the cup, put the lid on, take 'em outside and set them free.

For things that crawl, try placing a glass over them and sliding a piece of cardboard underneath and carrying the whole thing outside...set it on the ground and tip the glass over, and the bug will crawl out.
For flying bugs, hmm, that's a bit tougher. Try opening a window and trying to shoo the bug towards it with a piece of paper.

Often handling them can be eventually fatal.
Repellents, like mothballs, etc, work a little. Figure out how pests are getting inside, if you can.
Spraying soap and water on ant trails can throw them off and they'll go away.
Unfortunately, there's no easy way to rid yourself of pests, and your health really should take precedence.

just capture them and put them outside in a respectable place.

sheeesh it's not that hard i catch insects all the time.. just yesterday a spider, small green worm and a buncha lady bugs were all re-distributed to the wide green outdoors.

of course in bushes, away from one another.. allowing the challenge of their own sport to maybe meet one another's acquaintance if that's the goal.

i doubt it.. they all seemed to be already set in getting back in gear with their own biz.

Scoop them up in a cup, with paper underneath, and toss 'em out a window. ..!
