We recently received a big box of I-mei french cookies, and I, being vegetarian, glanced at the ingredients, which included the word gelatine. But it doesn't seem like they would put gelatin in cookies. Is it vegetable grade? Please tell me...those cookies look so appetizing!

"Gelatin" (or its French equivalent) can only mean the protein derived from boiling animal parts. There are vegetarian substitutes for gelatin, but none of them are called gelatin.

So sorry, but I guess your cookies aren't vegetarian. It's ridiculous what they put gelatin in nowadays.
