No. STDs (including genital herpes) are almost ALWAYS spread by sex or some sort of sexual contact. They can NOT be spread by using a toilet seat after someone. If STDs were able to spread by toilet seats, A LOT more people would have STDs out there!

I have had genital herpes and HPV for over 6 years now. I lived with my parents and brothers most of those 6 years (I contracted both viruses when I was 17). NONE of my family members ever got herpes or HPV from me by using something after me like the toilet or shower. I've also had several other family members and boyfriends (now ex's) use the bathroom after me and NONE of them ever contracted either virus. They are just not spread that way.

Crabs, or pubic lice, may be transmitted an infested toilet seat. However, lice cannot survive away from the human body for longer than 24 hours. So contracting pubic lice from a toilet seat is possible, but it's unlikely.

There is a documented case of the herpes virus (HSV2) being transmitted when an uninfected member of a household used an infected person's bath towel. I assume that the virus can survive on any household surface in the right conditions (the virus really likes warm, damp environments). Unless the lesion is on a part of your body that contacts the toilet seat, you cannot transmit the virus by using a toilet.

Since I have genital herpes and share a bathtub with my family, I dry out the tub with my towel and then use Lysol spray on the tub after I bathe. I am sure to keep my towels in my room and I wash all of my own laundry in hot water, using bleach on my towels, as well. May be paranoid, but I would be heartsick if I transmitted this infection to my kids.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/HERPESTreatments2o15v86s

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

No. Herpes can only be spread if the infection location of a person with herpes directly touches another person's skin AND the infected person happens to be shedding the virus at that time.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

NO.

Maybe...just MAYBE from using the same razor as someone. You can get Hep C from sharing the same close quarters as someone but even that is very difficult to do without having sex with someone or sharing a dirty needle.
