Some christians will say that it was 6,000 years ago.

Others will say that to God, a day is as a thousand years, which takes that scripture out of context. That scripture wasn't intended to redifine the length of a day, but to say that an immortal being doesn't keep track of time like the rest of us. Compared to a fly, which only lives for two or three days, a second is like a year.

Other christians will say that God planted the fossils and made them appear old to test our faith, which makes their God a deceitful liar.

Others will say Satan planted the fossil evidence to corrupt us, which makes God inept and ineffectual, since he allowed Satan to pull the wool over our eyes.

Many christians will say that there are no ancient fossils and that they were all buried during the flood at the same time, ignoring evidence which clearly proves that there has never been a global flood which lasted for almost a year, and ignores the fact that all of the fossils were deposited in different strata, in a methodological order of progression.

A few of the more level headed christians will say that the language used in Genesis is an allegory, and the rest of christianity would have them burned at the stake for heresy.

For being omnipotent and all, God sure didn't do a very good job of making his message to us clear and concise, did he?

The fact is, all theists are wrong.
There is no God.

How do you know they do? carbon dating? Are you sure? Have you considered that you are accepting an ideal that you really do not know anything about? Have you read the accounts from the man how developed the carbon dating process, how he himself expressed doubt in his own system? But more importantly Christianity does not teach that the earth is 10,000 years old only that Man was created around that time. big big difference.

You know, only five years ago, Christians STILL said the Earth was only 2,000 years or so old. Then they conceded to 4,000, then 5,000. Now they're thinkin' maybe 10,000! If we wait another year, do you think they'll be convinced about the Theory of Evolution?

Isn't it a bit hubristic to think that we know better than God? Why are scientists so bad at basic math, like counting? Next they are going to have to apologize for miscounting the planets...oh, wait...
