All service pack 2 updates are the same regardless of the delivery method so the one for IT professionals is just fine. In fact the reason it is there is for use on machines that are not connected to the internet or for mass updates of multiple machines!

So you will be fine with that or you can even have MS send you a CD.

No, there is no difference. I got my SP2 on a disk, because I didn't want the LONG download. Microsoft will send you one free of charge. Use this link, cursor down and to the right and click on Order the CD. They'll mail it to you.

You won't be able to get all the monthly updates, so you'll have to figure that one out yourself.

You can get a disk with SP2 from MS.

However after you install SP2 there are about 60 more updates that need to be installed and they don't come on a disk. They can only be downloaded.

MS comes out with new updates to XP everymonth, at least 3 to 5 critical.

yes it is the same thing just packaged for people that have multiple computers to update.
i have a copy in my shop and use it all the time. the package will have print on it urging you to share it. one of the few things Microsoft wants you to give away.
You can have Microsoft send you a disk with the updates free of charge they will even cover the postage.
this is up to date as of the time they ship it. it will not get you the latest security patches as they come out once a month or whenever a patch is urgent enough to release right away.

i could reccommend staying at sp2 individually. there are some risk-free practices holes, yet they at the instant are not used as they have been patched. additionally, sp3 is properly extra of a downgrade because it weighs down your computing gadget.
