I know i have heard lots predict doom and gloom.

But I think with Toyota having a full year under their belt, as well as Joe Gibbs being an established team, unlike Red Bull, or Michael Waltrip Racing, or way better than Bill Davis, if there is any drop off, it wont be much, if at all.

Remember, Joe Gibbs was the only good Pontiac team at times when Gibbs fielded Pontiacs (which was pretty much the red headed stepchild of GM in NASCAR), and both Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart won championships driving Pontiacs.

If anything, Toyota would improve with Gibbs teaming up if it happens.

Toyota has not been a very good car this year. None of the Toyota teams have run in every race, and they have has a few top 10's. I think Stewart and Hamlin are both better drivers than any of the Toyota drivers this year. If Gibbs indeed goes to Toyota, Stewart may have a slow start, but I am sure Gibbs and Zippadelli will give him everything he needs to be a winner. Toyota has dominated the truck series and have won Busch races this year with a Top 3 driver in the Busch points, so I think in time they will be competitive in Cup cars.

I think Stewart can drive anything with wheels, but the Toyota may be a challenge for him because they aren't very good cars. We'll see if they sign with Toyota.

If, and it is more than likely, Joe Gibbs Racing goes to Toyota they will win races. The first year is always the hardest. Next year add Gibbs into the mix and Toyota gets the bugs out, they will win races.

If all is true, and I believe it is... Tony Stewart will be getting Toyotas first win next season in the Daytona 500.

That a bold enough prediction for you?

This troubles me, as Joe Gibbs has more money than he knows what to do with, yet he sells out to Toyota. It's not the driver that will make Toyota successful, it's got to be Toyota that makes themselves competitive, and thus far in the Cup series, hasn't achieved that with some already good drivers, Vickers, Jarrett, Blaney. By Gibbs doing this, he's selling out an American manufacture, who has provided him with excellent engines. See, with the American manufactures, you have Roush/Yates Engines, Hendrick Engines, RCR/DEI Engines, etc. All Toyota engines come from Toyota Racing Development...that's why all Toyotas, so far, have all equally sucked. So, until they start allowing tweaks to their engine program, it will not matter who drives their cars. I believe Stewart and Hamlin are, by no fault of their own, about to fall on their face, and Kyle Busch will probably rethink his decision to have signed with JGR after only a few races next season.
