I gave up coffee cold turkey. I used to drink it all day. Maybe 8 or 10 cups. The acid did damage to my esophogus and I had surgery but from the moment I gave up coffee about 1/3 of my discomfort went away. Too much coffee is VERY bad. I had really bad headaches for around two weeks but they went away. I drink tea now and don't miss coffee one bit. It wasn't the caffine that was affecting me it was the acids in the coffee.

I have, multiple times. I drink obscene amounts of coffee, and I travel a lot. When I travel west and have long flights, I avoid coffee, so that I can adjust to the different time zone faster. I get a throbbing headache every single time, but I still drink coffee like a maniac.

True. You can always switch to dark tea. The compound in tea is very similar to coffee plus tea doesn't have make you nervous.

I did it with soda, it sucked. It's like de-toxing.
