I am a schizophrenia paranoid (DDD) and the 6 answers preceding this are very inadequate. The label "schizophrenia" covers a whole spectrum of disorders. Some do not hallucinate at all but all seem to have delusions.
A delusion is a false belief so it is entirely subjective as to whose belief is right. For example the eminent English biologist Richard Dawkins recently wrote a best selling book, "The God Delusion", In which he said that anyone believing there was a god was deluded. That covers about 70% of the people in the USA.
An hallucination is a perception of something by the senses that others do not sense. It can be anything but "hearing voices" is very common. About 10-30 % of the world population reports having had an hallucination so you can see it is not a phenomena limited to those diagnosed as schizophrenic. An hallucinatory "schizophrenic" is usually incapacitated by his/her hallucinations. There is no particular "voice or vision" that is common to those diagnosed to my knowledge.
For more info on these matters type in "hallucinations", and "schizophrenia" into Yahoo! web search and a number of informative links comes up. Wikipedia has good summaries.

I had a brother who sadly suffered with this illness. When he was able to talk about it he would always think that he was not worth anything.Very low self esteem all the time.In the end the voices were telling him to take his own life .Very sadly I lost him 15years ago to this illness.I personally think that every sufferer from this illness would experience different voices--words--illusions.I really prey that you are not a sufferer and that you do not have to watch any family or loved ones go through this illness.

I think its pretty much tailored to the individual. I dont think that all schizophrenics hear and see the same thing. I do believe that a common one is when they believe that god is talking to them. A lady I knew became extremrly religious and heard god tell her to walk down the street naked holding a sign with some sort of bible verse on it. A psychologis once told me that hyperreligious activity is a Huge sign that mental illness is looming!

Very common themes tend to revolve around religion: hearing God or believing they are Jesus and Sex: menstruation and sex.
These are the most common I have come across.
