Here's a site that talks about this very thing.

I believe I'm a Christian. I believe Christ is my savior, that He died for me, that through His gift of grace I am saved. Isn't that what makes you a christian? Is faith in Christ all you need? Some will say that we aren't Christian because we don't believe in the trinity. Well, the first Christians didn't believe in it, so are they not Christians either?

Also, if you narrow down the definition of a Christian to the point that only those who believe in X are real Christians, then you have eliminated a whole bunch of groups who call themselves Christian. Lets say you have a duck- it has a bill, webbed feet and white feathers right? If that's your definition of a duck, then you have narrowed down your concept of a duck so far that it takes out Mallards, wood ducks, and pretty much any other kind of ducks besides the white ones.

Hmm.. some food for thought!

No. Mormons don't accept the basic tenets of the Christian faith. There are certain doctrines which are considered fundamental. As far as I know, Mormons don't accept any of them. Christians believe that there is only one God, and He is triune. Mormons believe in many gods. Christians believe Jesus is God and that He died for our sins. Not only do Mormons not think that Jesus' death has any meaning, they don't even have crosses on their churches. Christians believe that the Bible is the sole source of knowledge about God. Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is superior. And so forth. Mormons will tell you they are Christians, but either they don't understand the differences, or they are trying to deceive you. Look up "cardinal doctrines" on Google; some sites should have a good list of them. Mormons usually won't tell you everything they believe, because they have insider doctrine. Insider doctrine is any teaching that isn't told to a new member until he has committed himself. So it will be difficult to find an objective list of what Mormons believe. There are sites that talk about it, but they are usually prepared by ex-Mormons. I list one of the best of those sites below.

Part of my family is Mormon. I have been to Ward meetings many times. The Mormon church is great with the activities that benefit families. Their welfare system is brilliant. It's a wonderful family oriented organization. Their temples are wonders to behold. Beautiful. At first the new convert is told what appears to be Christian words. It appears Christian. It sounds Christian. However once you study their doctrine, which most Mormons do not, you find heresy. Heresy is defined as teaching that is against the Word of God, the Bible. At the heart of their teaching is polytheism. At the heart, and we are specifically talking about their "sacred" writings, their doctrine teaches a different Jesus. Most Mormons are totally unaware of the pagan heart in the Mormon Church that masquerades as Christian because the way of life in the Mormon Church can be rich, and only the studious find this out. Satan masquerades as an angel of light, and he has many churches masquerading as light. A thousand Mormons will insist that Mormonism is Christian. It is not. If you truly want to know truth, you will find truth. Read the most powerful book ever written; read the Bible.

No. They base their faith in three other books plus the Bible. What is written on the other books contradicts the faith in Jesus as our God and Saviour.

They do not reveal their inner doctrines to the public or the new ones.

Not all people that call Jesus Lord will enter in His kindom.

This gets asked every day. Why is there so much question regarding it and why don't xtians want to acknowledge mormons? Well, the catholics still don't want to acknowledge the protestant so you're all just perpetrating your own little cycles.

xtianity has no formal method of determining 'who is' such as maternal or patrilineal lineage. Anyone who says they are a xtian, IS a xtian. Mormons say they're Xtian. So they are.

No.
Mormonism is a cult, dresssed in a family -friendly facade.
They speak many of the right things about Christ; however, they do not consider Jesus Christ as God who came to live a sinless life and die a sin-bearing death for the atonement of our sins. They do not believe faith alone in Him is necessary for salvation. Their contorted view of the Bible also has additions, the Book of Mormon, which has never been considered as Biblical canon. Their twisted view of salvation and the rewards thereafter is based among other things on works.
They are a cult.

Yes they are Christians. They believe in Jesus Christ. They believe He came to Earth to atone for our sins. They believe he is our Savior.
They know more about Jesus Christ than most other religions.

No, they are a separate religion borrowing a few Christian teachings and concepts. This is nothing new in christianity, the Gnostics heretics did the same thing as have others.
