In England we have two forms of termination: the pill and a surgical procedure.
You can only take the pill up to a certain point in pregnancy and if you fit into this timescale you will be given two pills to take over two days. The first will stop the pregnancy from continuing and the second will relax the uterus so your body can release the fertilized egg. You will then have a period which will last around a month.
The surgical procedure will last around 15minutes and you will be under local anesthetic. However, when you wake up it will be gone. Bleeding will occur though.

I guess I will be the first to answer you seeing as you were looking for the process. You go to the clinic, fill out paperwork (allergies, medical background, lmp, and figure out your blood type), then they discuss pain relief options, you choose one, they administer it. You lay donw on a table similar to the one at your Gyno's office with the stirrups, they do an ultrasound, then insert a cervix opener(again like your annual check up), then they insert the vaccum. You will feel slight scraping (not painful) and a good amount of pressure. Takes about 10-20 min. Then you go into a seperate room where they let you relax and recover from meds. You go home and sleep for a day or two. You will have decent cramps, and a good amount of blood (like a very heavy period). This should stop in a couple days. Then in a few weeks you go to your follow up appt.

I had an abortion at 17, and thought I want to regret it I dont know how I would have been able to give him/her the best of everything. You are in a different place in your life and at this age (28) I wouldnt go thru with it. I had a surgical procedure they gave me anesthesia I was knocked out within 2 seconds and didnt feel a thing.

When I had my abortion (at age 16) I was given an U/S (which I was not allowed to look at) and then I was given an anesthesia to put me to sleep (I was given the option to take a pill, but didn't want to see/feel anything). I don't know exactly what the doctor did to take the baby out -- I think he used a vacuum to take out the baby (don't quote me, though).

I am a nurse and have seen abortions. I have also worked with patients who regret it. One guy I dated paid for his gf's abortion and to this day he is deeply regretful. He says that could of been his son.
If you can't raise the child, then give up the baby for adoption. There are wonderful families who can't have babies and they would love to be a parent and give your chld a good life.
You need to talk to a doctor about this. And if you are grown up enough to be having sex, then you need to realize you just might get pregnant
YOu also can have damage with an abortion.
I have only seen pain and loss even many years after the abortion.
Your child is growing. Can you really JUST choose to get rid of it.
I realize there are medical reasons for abortion.. But to use it as birth control....not good.
Please think about the little precious life inside of you.

I do not advise abortion. It is against Hindu religion. Have the baby for the gods.
