Why cant us christians and you athiest just get along?

Im a christian there seems to be so much hate towards each other

For us so called Christians I think we need to remember that jesus never preached any form of hate whatsoever and the church and ppl as a hole said this, I mean how could jesus preach christian superiority when christianity did;t even exist for another 300 years and we were still the minority andbeing persecuted worse than jews at the time. Theres a reason God gave us a free will if ppl wanna sin let them sin if God gave them free will to do so then who are we to deny them God will deal with them not us.

Now for atheist some of you blame religion for wars, hatred, and bigotry in society. Well even though theres been countless cases of ppl killing in the name of God and religous wars nowhere in the bible does it ever say to to do such an act the 10 commandments clearly prohibit murder, Jesus spoke about love. ppl do the evil deeds not religion. If everyone was atheist we would still be in the same boat anyway.

some of the ppl on here are real idiots this what Im talking about, I never said there was no murder in the bible I said jesus never said to murder and please find me any words from jesus himself where he said to kill or harm some one someone Im pretty sure jesus said turn the other cheek and love for ones enemies. He encouraged unconditional self-sacrificing love for God and for all people did jesus not meet with societies outcasts when the Pharisees objected to Jesus' meeting with sinners rather than the righteous, Jesus replied that it was the sick who need a physician, not the healthy Matthew 9:9–13 jesus never once preached a word of hate. Just becuase some dumb hilly billy says God hates fags you think that christianity is evil no that dumb hill billy is evil not jesus. If we were all atheist the world would be no different maybe a little worse becuase religion does hold alot of ppl back from doing emoral deeds I know it does for me.

What you believe goes against every reasonable and rational fiber of our beings and it is frustrating, to say the least, to see people which such insane beliefs running the country we live in and making decisions which affect OUR lives.

Jesus never preached any form of hate, but he never preach to loves any other then Jews too. Read the bible, there is nothing regarding love for the gentiles. Jesus refer the people who are not the children of Israel as dogs. So are you a Jew, ie, Children of Israel?


10 Commandments prohibit murder? What did Moses do when he came down from the Mountain? He did not play chess with Aaron, did he? He did not write a treaty of peace to the Midianites, did he? What did he do then?

did you ever actually read the bible, other than the parts your priest told you to read? there is plenty of inspiration in there for hatred of various kinds. it's nice that you're ignorant of such things or prepared to pretend it's not there, but others in your religion are not so inclined.

edit: ok then it's about false prophets, if you say so. do you think that false prophets should be killed as the bible clearly says? i'd venture a guess that you don't agree and i'm fine with that of course. but again, some christians do look to the old testament passages like this one, and what's more insist that the whole bible is the word of god, not to be argued with at all... i think that's part of why we have trouble getting along. you asked the question, sorry if you don't like my answer but you should know that no hatred towards you was intended.

I think it's because to Athiests God isn't logical and there's no ACTULL profe of his exststance. Christians don't like Atheists because atheists don't believe/are kinda against there god.

The atheists you speak of who are on here, are really anti-theists and so their goal is to disprove God. So it's not easy to be nice while having a goal like that.

And anyway just where do you think the anti-theists could go and claim the higher intellect?

It is quite amusing though. They claim to not believe in God and spend all sorts of time and energy trying to prove that.
I guess their higher intellect never showed them that you can not prove the negative.

Example: I don't believe in aliens. And so my goal now is to prove to everyone they don't exist. And that is simply not possible. You can not prove the negative and if I don't believe in something, what do I care what others believe?

Religion is the greatest divider of people. It emphasizes the importance of God naming the true religion instead of the religions doing it. If God would name the true religion, it would silence the atheists.
