You are a sweet sister. Talk to him before hand and have a plan that you both agree to.

I would suggest that you agree that he hold on to your hand and look you in the eye while they give the shot.

Help him to breathe rather than freakout. You can practice beforehand so that when you go there and he is getting hyped up, you can get him to breathe and calm back down.

May God provide you with both with a better experience this time.

It's all context:............ a 16 year old dating a 26 year old is going to raise eyebrows. a 26 year old dating a 36 year old is still going to seem odd. a 30 year old dating a 40 year old is probably a little more acceptable. I understand WHY a girl might want to date an older guy though. It tends to be that guys don't mature as early as girls do, so an older guy has a lot of appeal. He knows something about the way the world works, understands women, and is generally going to be a more interesting, well rounded guy than a kid fresh out of high school who thinks he knows everything, and acts super cocky because of that. The young guy is generally not only less interesting, but he's completely blind to that fact. It's not just guys. I've noticed that most young girls (say early 20s) are BORING... They just haven't expanded their horizons enough yet, to be able to hold a good interesting conversation. Sure, they're attractive, but that isn't really the stuff that a GOOD relationship is made of. Of course all that creates a dynamic where the older person in the relationship is probably just going to use the younger one as a "toy," so to speak. Someone to have fun with for a while, until they're bored, and then they move on. Now, occasionally, you'll find something different, because no two people, and therefore, no two relationships, are alike. And I don't want to discount the possibility of more. I'm only generalizing. Of course, if you want to look at why people wonder about this sort of relationship, that's EXACTLY the perspective you need to take. Because, they too, are only generalizing...

What kind of needle did they use last time? It's better if they can use a butterfly needle on him because it's much smaller, so it won't hurt as bad. It might also help to distract him before and during the injection, so it can be done quickly and maybe he won't notice til after it's done. Keep talking to him the entire time and let the nurse/doctor inject it while he's off guard. Tell him that if he does a good job and tries not to cry, that you will give him a big treat- maybe some candy or buy him a toy.

My mum has a neddle phobia. And she's a Nurse!
She can handle then with just a syringe and a seperate needle but put them together and she goes to much.

The only way she can deal with her fear is not see the needle at all, before and after (this is if someone else is giving it to her) and keep her eyes closed until it's all been taken out of sight.

Kids are frightened of needles.
You are doing the right thing by going first to show him he dosn't have to be scared, but you can show no fear on your face and in your voice either. Or he will know straight away that you are scared too. Just even a little.
Hold his hand while he has he's injection and distract him with talk of things he likes. Like a faviourite TV show or game. Or a funny thing you saw at some time.
Distraction is the key.

Most six year olds are scared of needles. It's normal to be frightened. I am 28 and I still look away......

You can try distracting him with toys or a lollipop. Maybe he can earn a "prize" if he's brave (a small toy, stickers, an ice cream cone).

If you are embarrassed you can leave the room.

It happens. Don't get embarassed because of your brother. Try to help him by talking to him or playing a game.

I was super scared of needles at 6 and now I'm a regular blood donor.

Of course he's scared, he's only a baby. Talk him through it. I had to take my Grand daughter all the time at that age. It took three of us to hold her down, she would just about climb the walls, she did outgrow it.
