I am living with my grandparents for two years and staying in their spare bedroom. It is quite oldfashioned and has a lot of furniture in it, eg dressers which i dont really need in there. I dont like the wallpaper (its olive green and light blue stripes) but i cant change that. Have you any simple ideas that i could use to make my room feel more my own for the two years im here. I am 17 and studying for alevels

Can you drape the walls with fabric? Install a beautiful ceiling fan or chandelier type lamp? You can make or change out your headboard on the bed. Set up a folding screen or vintage mirror. Use tall vases with bare but artistic tree limbs. A beautiful bench with striped silk fabric. Paint the windowsills a color that blends with the room. See if you can move out some or the furniture or brainstorm and use the item for something it was not meant for. Decorate with mirrors, a pretty clock and lots of live plants.

long bamboo rods , tie them together to make like a doorway shape then drape a flat sheet of color to your liking and lean in against every wall in your room , that way no holes in their wall . add some plants after that or some colorfull throw pillows. as for the furniture you can maybe ask if you can move it elsewhere and if not then maybe buy a screen that covers the whole front of the dresser ? :) just some ideas i saw on the home improvement channel LOL

Since this is not your permanent residence, you should consider decorating in a temporary way, so that the changes you make, can be unmade when you leave. I would not alter the structure of the room. Ask them if you could store the things that clutter your stile in the cellar or something.

first thing you need to do is remove the furniture you don't need to see what space you have.
i'm not sure where you live but...
try to go to a store like target or walmart or jc pennys
and get a new bedding set....comforter sheets and pillows that reflect your style...
get some accent pillows. maybe if there is enough room you can get a bean bag chair or something to sit on.
maybe get a throw rug and new window treatments
