I have been in therapy for years, taken every medication, literally, read tons of books and have tried the exercises in them and have even tried some "programs" ordered off of the television only to be very disappointed. Therapy helps the most but nothing has really taken it away to where it does not control my life still. It has been 14 years and I am still very limited as to how far I can go away from my house due to my anxiety and I find this very frustrating. I understand it is a process and I guess I am continuing to go through the process. I have found the tapping technique with a little EMDR to help most often if I can calm down long enough to get through it.

I do a combination of things to treat my anxiety. First of all, I try to change my mindset from being a victim to being a survivor. So long as I view myself as a victim to my anxiety, then that suggests that I can do nothing about it and nothing can be further from the truth. I then try to change the way I feel by changing the way I think. I focus on slowing my heart rate down and on regulating my breathing. But I'm not above taking Ativan on occasion if I need to. The bottom line is that I've learned to change the way I feel by changing the way I think. I use a combination of medication and therapy to gain control over anxiety and/or depression.

God he is the way the truth and the life. There is nothing to big or impossible for him. if you believe with all of your heart who he is and what he is able to do you will be able to do all things in him who straightens you. John 14:27my peace I leave to you my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled nor let it be afraid. If God Say's don't be afraid it's for a reason and anxiety is a form of being fright full, fear. Anxiety can be fought off why not start seeking him and trusting in him you will see the difference.
good luck!

I take thirty minutes out each day, close my eyes and just push everything out of mind. I take deep breaths, concentrating on taking in the air. It is great for relaxation and you are much happier afterwards almost like a refreshing sleep - it is great. It doesn't have to be that long though --- it could be 10min.

Hi!
Someone sent me a card many years ago that said:
In this life, there are only two things to worry about: you are well or you are ill. If you are well, nothing to worry about. If you are ill, two things to worry about: you will get better or you will die. If you get better, nothing to worry about; if you die, two things to worry about: you will go to heaven or you will go to hell. If you go to heaven, you've nothing to worry about and if you go to hell you will be so busy letting on to everyone you know you will have no time to worry - so why worry in the first place?
I've never been anxious since.
Good wishes.
