why would almighty and good and loving jesus want ANYONE put to death? (witches (or wiccans for the correct term)) Isnt what the christian religion supposed to teach is tolerance, not to judge, and turn the other cheek and all that? And if a christian puts to death an offender to the eyes of "god" does he/she still go to heaven since he/she commited a crime? There are ALOT of contradictionsin your bible. Trust me i went to church every sunday from2 to 9 years old, at two i could recite full psalms. And you know what all my prayers resulted in? being beaten up everyday! i turned to Wicca, the goddess and the elements and i feel so much more peaceful and happy. why are there so many restrictions in your religion? How can being imprisoned in a cage of restriction be better than being free in a worl of accpetance and peace? you tell you christian what is so good about your religion. it has only brought me distress and depression. Prayers are not answered unless you make them happen!

I feel the same way...I was born and raised Christian (Catholic to be exact) but knew it was all wrong. I was beaten non-stop by my step-mother who was a devout Catholic....man everytime I think of her, I think of the mother from the movie Carrie. What is wrong with this picture?? Christianity was suppose to be about love and forgiveness not lies and deceit.

For the longest time, I feared to seek out the truth so I wouldn't go to hell. Didn't want to break any of the 10 Commandments. lol The stories just didn't make since and the contradictions were slapping me in the face. I couldn't beat the curiosity of finding the truth .

I then learned the history of Christianity and learned of its beginnings, how it was started, who suffered, who gained from it...Christianity is a Shame...a forced religion where millions of people were persecuted and killed. It took Pagan beliefs/ rituals and altered them to fit into their own made up system. Don't you know I changed my mind in a snap after learning that!

If God gave me the gifts of Creativity and Free-Will, why was I contantly threatened with hell and eternal damnation for using the gifts he gave me? Come on you guys!! Give me a break!

As a result, I discovered Wicca as well. Traditional Witchcraft to be exact. I find it more peaceful and more liberating! Everyday is a new day and nobody can put a damper in it but me. Good or Bad, I'm in Charge of my own future, I can alter it anyway I would like.

Actually, Christianity is about love and freedom.

You have commented on several things;

God does not want anyone to perish.
That is why He sent His Son Jesus.

Most Christians are not on "witch hunts",
That was in the past... and it certainly was not tolerant.
God does not condone murder.

The Bible does seem to have contradictions,
but the truth and person it is about is remarkable.

Prayers resulted in your being beaten up everyday?
I guess that depends on what you prayed for...
Was it against God's will or because of your own free will?
There are consequences for every choice we make.

The only restrictions are those things not done in love.
The ten commandments can be summarized as
Love God (1-3) and love others (4-10)
Love brings with it acceptance and peace.

God does answer prayers...
if those petitions are according to and in His will.
After you accept Christ, the Holy Spirit helps you too...

I'm sorry to hear it has brought you distress.
Just remember that God does not fit our "religion" boxes.
I hope that you will think about worshiping the Creator,
instead of the creation, as in nature and the elements.

You have misunderstood christianity very badly brother. Or You have been misled by someone.

As someone said "Christianity is not a religion, but having a personal relationship with Christ".

The restrictions are set by people and not by God. So, try having a good relation with Jesus by spending some time in HIS presence, meditating upon the word (Bible) and having a talk with him sincerely will all your heart.

Try, you'll definitely see the difference and will have immense peace. Nobody can give peace as Jesus gives you.

Jesus Loves You bro.

The Biblical witch hunts were done to remove evil from the land because the witches, fortune tellers etc. serve the created instead of the creator and in so doing serve the devil.

IF you knew the Bible then you would know that Paul of Tarsus was shipwrecked, stoned, beaten the 39 lashes 3 times and more and his faith never failed. If you were beaten up every day and turned to wicca then I guess you failed and of course are happier, the devil has you now why should he care about trying to ruin your faith in him.

IF you also knew the BIble you can easily see that prayers were usually answered when the person made a step of faith and not just sat on their but saying gimme gimme..
“Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.” - Saint Augustine

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men! Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for power equal to your tasks.” - Phillip Brooks

"Now is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It won't last forever. We must take it or leave it." C.S. Lewis (atheist turned Christian apologist)

"Truth is absolute and knowable and must be searched for diligently, but many will try to hide it, deny it or muddy it." - Bia Leung.

"There is ample evidence of God and proofs Jesus existed and the Bible has been shown to be reliable historically. So logically True + True + True = God sent Jesus to die for our sins and provide salvation if we belive and follow him!" - Bai Leung

I am Christian, and I believe that the Bible was written by PEOPLE, who make mistakes. Throughout the years some corrupt king has to have gotten his hands on the transcripts and changed it around to agree with his laws.

I'm glad you're happy. I am happy being Christian, and you are happy being wiccan. I only get angry about other religions when they try to slander mine, and I make it a point never to say negative things about another religion. (I will, however, sometimes say that a certain part of a religon is violent and against humanity.)

Also, what happened to you because of being a Christian was because of PEOPLE, not God.

Christianity tries not to focus on this world, but rather the kingdom that awaits us after we depart this world. By indulging in this world we are slandering and devaluing the kingdom of heaven. Christianity does teach tolerance, but not blind acceptance and submission to other beliefs.

And most Christians find much of the behavior you describe as repulsive and un-Christlike.

Who beat you up for praying? I am very sorry such horrible things happened to you. But Jesus didn't do that.

What restrictions do you mean?

What I feel is good about my religion is that it is the only one that has forgiveness of sins.

I'm sorry that some Christians are continuing their abuse of you.
Welcome to Wicca, and leave this sort to their own devices.

Our sin brings about our death, the wages of sin is death, not our loving creator.
