Listen to some relaxing music. It will drown out all of those creepy noises in the night.

1. Drink milk. It contains an amino acid that induces sleep.

2. Put lavender nearby.

3. Read a book, but not too interesting that it will make you want to read it more.

4.Take a hot bath.

5. Lock doors, windows, etc. so that you can feel safe.

6. If you have an AC or a fan turn it on for a while.

7. Why would ghosts enter your room? I also have the same fear as you. I always think that a ghost or a burglar will just come out of nowhere and kill me, but don't worry. Just take deep, slow breaths and everything will be fine. No need to stress yourself more.

I've struggled with this most of my life...since early childhood. I had various rituals then to reassure myself that I was safe, things I would repeat over and over like mantras until I fell asleep...I somehow knew even at age six the power of a mantra to soothe the mind. So you might come up with a simple mantra to repeat over and over again. Mine back then was 'Mommy said nothing will happen to me while I'm asleep, and so there, and that is all for tonight'. LOL

Okay now for dietary things...how much caffeine do you have on an average day? Maybe you need to cut back. Chamomile tea is very relaxing, so have a warm cup of it with lemon and honey before bed...you will forget all about being scared and just drift off naturally. If you don't like the tea, a cup of warm milk and honey is also effective. Eat some carbs, they are also soothing, maybe a bowl or two of cereal.

Now, what are you doing right before you try to sleep? Watching scary movies or reading scary books? Bad plan. LOL Get something really boring to read, like a chemistry or government policy textbook...bore yourself to sleep, it works. Or put a soothing video of some kind of nature show or boring history documentary on your DVD player and put it on the timer...so it doesn't wake you back up at some point after you drift off.

Yoga is very soothing and maybe you could do that with a DVD as part of your relaxation routine before bed...make sure you get one meant to be done in the evening so it is not stimulating but relaxing.

A nature sounds CD, like rain or ocean waves can also soothe you to sleep.

Warm bath then a glass of warm milk. The lactose is a natural sleeping aid (I add a little honey myself). Also put on some gentle classical or relaxation music. Put the cd on repeat and loud enough, but not too loud, just enough so you can't hear the outside sounds. Try not to have any electrical devises around your bed as these can stimulate some people, this includes clock radios.
Start to make this routine and this will help with your tension at night. Sleep tight.

I have the identical precise predicament.... Statistics exhibit that if you are for your cell or looking television as much as an hour earlier than you try to fall asleep, you'll be able to have issues falling asleep, so post your cell, television off, something else that's stimulating your brain.. And simply consider approximately whatever enjoyable, and even rely as top as you'll be able to to your head till you go to sleep, is helping with me mostly..

Don't you know if you are really stress and really tired its a little bit hard to fall asleep. The best way is to have a little exercise before going to bed. Then set and program your mind that you are not afraid of the ghost... hmm, sounds a bit funny mate. Just a reminder ghost won't cause you harm, you have to be afraid of an alive person instead.

Make sure your dwelling is well sealed with good locks, so no one can get in. To fall asleep you have to go to your doctor and get one of three new sllep-aid meds that are not habit forming. They are Ambien CR, Lunesta, and Rozerem. They'll knock you out, and you'll wake up refreshed, and you'll have no trouble getting them. Tell your doc about your fears too. You might need an anti-anxiety pill. Good luck to you, sweetie. :) ps. Try warm milk in the meantime.

Valerian root is a herbal remedy and is all natural to help you sleep. It comes in capsule form and is easy to take. It's not habit forming at all and is sold in many stores like Walmart. I was told by a friend I worked with about Valerian root and have been using them for a few years now. What helps me to is reading, a book, magazine what ever. Hope this helps!

I get that too, it's really scary isn't it. Listen to some nice music, no slipknot please and maybe read a book? Just lie there and think about nice things, imagine yourself in your thoughts and they'll become more defined as if you're in a dream and you'll drop off pretty soon after that.
Just don't think about all the scary things cause it'll get you really stressed and you won't be able to think nice thoughts.

lol, I have the same problem... fear of something coming out in the night, then covering myself and getting hot because i'm covered AND scared. I usually have a small light on at night, and have a fan blow at me. It will help, trust me.
