Would it change your concept of the war?

No, it would remind me of how important it is/was that my spouse, son and friends will be/could be/are there.

Would you feel obligated to defend the current administrations policy on the war?

I am obligated because my spouse/son/friends took and oath and fought for it.

Would you vote in favor of continuing the war?

That isn't a vote we will be asked to make. I would vote for the candidate who is against the NAU (North American Union) and who sees making America more safe and stronger as job #1.

Would you contemplate joining the ranks of Americans against the war?

The military defends your right to protest, I would try defending and supporting it more passionately than ever.

Would you consider yourself prepared for this eventuality?

What we need to consider is this, turn on your TV and look at any war torn country... pieces of kids in the streets, rubble, hunger, death..... did you ever get or see someone jumped in high school or junior high? If you were lucky enough to get away with your face in tact or a teacher intervened... well, guess who followed you the heck home and beat your butt on your own front lawn???? No, I would much prefer to end this on foreign soil than bring it back to Hometown USA..... wouldn't you?

Please answer from the heart.

I did.

Would it change your concept of the war? No. My husband believes in what he is doing and, unlike most who are only fed media stories, knows what is going on and the good they are doing.

Would you feel obligated to defend the current administrations policy on the war? Yes and no. I come from a very liberal family. I have already been asked in harsh manners how I could be proud if my husband died for such a "stupid" cause. I know what I believe, I don't really care what everone else says.

Would you vote in favor of continuing the war? Yes. Just because I were to lose my husband doesnt mean I would stop supporting our troops or the cause. Like I've said before, I know my husbands and his collegues believe in what they are doing, and are willing to die for their country if need be.

Would you contemplate joining the ranks of Americans against the war? No. Never. I couldn't protest aginst something my husband believed in.

Would you consider yourself prepared for this eventuality? You can never be fully prepared for anything like this. To have my husband die would break me, it would mean the loss of my best friend, my soul mate, my world. But I know what he wants if something should happen. I know what needs to take place. I know that my husband loves me unconditionally and that when I vowed "until death parts us" I wasnt talking about him. I am a Marine Wife. I knew he would be redeployed. I have nightmares of something happening, this is the life I have, the man I fell in love with. I will love my husband until the day I die, and no matter in what manner he is taken from me I am proud to say that not only is he a US Marine, not only is he a Iraq War Veteran with three deployments, but that he is also a wonderful man and my world.

Truth be told I know that should something happen to my husband tonight, and I were to get that dreaded knock on my door, I would be crushed. But I also know that I have had enough love in the last two years to last me a lifetime. That's all I need to know at the end of the day.

It would not change my opinion that this war must be won

It would not change my opinion that harsher measures/ tactics should be used

Yes, I would vote for the continuation of the war, until victory. As long as it takes and no matter what it takes.

I would never, under any circumstances, associate with "Americans (or others) against the war" because they are people I consider to be traitors

I am prepared. I am also a reservist.

Cause their damn tired of the same things happening over and over again. How about the 30 Iraqi civilians that died cause of a suicide bomber? No one cares!!! We got desencitized to mass murder around 2003 July, a few months after the invasion. I don't mean to be rude or disrepectuful but this is just too long of a war. Everyone thought it was going to be short. But now America is the laughing stock of the world. While China is the rising superpower looking to challenge us in 5 years time.

It would not. If we were allowed to fight the cavemen in the Middle East like the fascist white boys of Nazi Germany, this war would be over by now. Be thankful that you haven't got family over there, as they are good people,-patirots being maimed in your stead. You cannot export freedom to an idiot group of people. They will not fight for their sovereignty, nor appreciate the help. Their ex dictator would put people into wood- chippers if they became belligerent. Saddam was exactly what the majority of these people needed. Unfortunately, our ultra-liberal President believes that an air-campaign against the Suni-Triangle would be a p.r. blunder.

Im in the British Army just returned from Iraq(OP Telic 9)

I say we must take the fight to them(our enemies)

Do not fear death...i did not

The fight must go on....we must never lose hope

Do not give the enemies an inch to breath...for they will take a mile

They want WAR..and we are giving them one

I dont care if i go to Afghan or Iraq and die...as long i fight and kill as many of them

Remember we must take the fight to them

War is nasty and horrible....but it's the only way to clip their wings and stop them from destroying our civilised world

Long live the FREEDOM World!

That's irrelevant. How would my personal loss change good from bad or bad to good?

Farmers farm.
Writers write.
Teachers teach.
Soldiers fight.

There's no draft, so if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, and don't enlist.

I would like, totally freak! I'm not smart like most of the people answering but in my heart I feel that this war is not right. If my boyfriend was there (and he was before) I would hate it but have to back him up. If he got killed....I would freak but have to get over it and probably down the road find a boyfriend who wouldn't want to go to a stupid war.

No it would not change my feelings. My dh is active and has served and he and I both know the risk. It would be the enemy that killed him and tortured him, not the US. I have prepared myself for that as much as one can and I will always stand behind our troops and support the current administation in military matters. That doesn't mean I always agree, just that I support them. Being in the military is following orders and doing as your told with in the bounds of the law and as long as no law is being broken...I will continue to support our CIC, whether it is dubya or Clinton or rudy or whoever. You cannot let your grief cloud your judgement.
