When Christ came upon Pharisees about to stone an adulteress to death he asked them what measure they were judging her by--they answered by the "Laws of Moses"--the word of God--Christ didn't accept that excuse--why do Christians???
Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that
committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
John 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery;
and when they had set her in the midst,
8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that
is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

As an individual, who are we to judge... God alone makes judgment,
Divine judgment partakes of the Trinity nature of the united Father, Son, and Spirit.
We have a judicial system because no two people are likely to agree as to the punishment for a wrongdoing. We have rules and laws to abide by. They exist two-fold, to protect the people, and to instill a means to prevent unjust judgment. It is better to rest this upon the group or chosen representatives of the group. Judgment should be vested in those who fully know the antecedents of all wrongdoing as well as its motivation. The administration of justice presupposes the passing of just sentence consequent upon fair judgment.
For an individual to make judgment based on ideals and beliefs is ignoble.

Theist here, and yea- I've read the account. Me?? I never judge anybody. I'm not God or a god or a judge. I'll judge myself before I judge anyone else. But, if you're going to bring this topic up, be consistent; it also says for believers to "judge rightly".
Define your idea of christians "judging". Saying it the way it is according to God's perfect standard is not judging just because to you it's hell. Naturally you accuse christians wrongfully. No surprise there.

with little question. basically examine out what proportion different religions there are based on the instructions of one e book and the aggressive (eg wars) activities that have surpassed off by using the sands of time. i'm a spiritual individual ie I even have my very very own interpretation of what the instructions contained in the bible propose and how they ought to be utilized to existence, inspite of the undeniable fact that i do no longer flow to a church. nor do I intentionally push my ideals on others - I actually have an excellent pal who's pagan & we communicate approximately our respective ideals devoid of judging eachother & in all honesty our perspectives on how we each and each percieve the universe to be - is extremely facinating.

That depends on how it comes across.....
There is a saying that goes, "Judge ye not!".....
therefore, if one judges and does the things he tells others not to do, he also is in danger of judgement....
Because we do not know the heart of others, we need not judge any except a great wrong be done........
But, certainly, not in the name of God..... There is a warning, not to swear by anything that is in the heavens.....and invoking God against someone else and being wrong is to face judgement.

Ginger

When I read the question I didn't know that I would have to read a lengthy essay.
I read somewhere that we should not judge others least we be judged. I like that part of the bible. It means to me that God has his job and I should stay out of God's business and just attend to my own.

"Judge lest ye be judged"
"Go before no judge other than the Lord"
I'm sorry I don't remember where they are, but I have used them for years and I have forgotten where they came from. These are the words I live by.
God will judge me and everyone else, and what we do is trivial.

No, they can call them on their sin, but God is the judge. And to Greenman Nate, Who is to say you cannot judge anyone, there are no moral absolutes without God.

It all depends by the meaning of 'judge' that you are using. If you are mean to condemn- then yes it is wrong. If you are meaning to point something out that can help the person, but not condemning, I would say no it is not wrong.
