How is it you believe in demons? The source of the story of demons would be the word of God. How is it you believe they exist because of the word of God and yet you question whether God knew they were evil?

The word "demon" is not found in the KJV; it is however found 28 times in the NASV.
You are correct that the word translated as "demon" comes from the Greek word "daimonion" Strong's Number: 1140. It is a noun, neuter gender; its word origin is that it is a neuter of a derivative of: "daimon", strongs #1142; which signifies a god, goddess, or inferior diety.
However, when used in the New Testament it is used to denote an evil spirit, spirits or messangers/ministers of the devil:
note the context in which you see the word used as the context is important:

Human beings are above all the creatures because they have the ability to think, plan, decide and then act instead of just following their instincts. Good or evil is not limited to humans only. These terms could be used for non-living things too. If something brings harm to someone, it has an evil nature but if a thing brings positive results, then it is good. The absence of good is evil just like the shadow is the absence of light, not a thing on its own. If the nature of a new-born is taken away, it's replaced with evil because all humans are born with a good nature.

The origin of the word demon you have given is according to the beliefs about daemons of the Ancient Greeks who saw them as good or malevolent supernatural beings.
However, in religion, folklore, and mythology today, a demon is seen as a malevolent spirit, and in Christian terms it is generally understood as a fallen angel, formerly of God. A demon is often described as a force that may be conjured and insecurely controlled. The "good" demon in recent use is largely a literary device.

The word demon refers to an evil spirit. From what I know, the word daemon (older word) used to be mean spirit.

Hon, Satan himself use to be one of the top angels, but he started thinking,:I this & I that, the problem letter in the word p r i d e is the letter I. Satan, Lucifer had this pride problem,
He started a rebellion in heaven, Recorded in the book of Ezekiel, & referred in the Psalms,& other places, This was his down fall. He thot himself to Be equal & take over for God.
THus he was thrown out of heaven & all his followers with him. many believe that this is what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, because it had to be a terrible quake.
God created a place for him & his angels, that he meant for no man to go. but the devils job is to convince man, that he does not exist,& trick ones into believing that there is no heaven or that God is not a loving God, anything he can to turn God's precious children away from accepting him.
His menions, now are called demons, the Bible speaks of them a lot, Jesus cast them out, they knew him. They called him by name. they know the lord, & "they also tremble" & they also know the Bible. they can trick people & are very convincing that they arent even here.
Good Question, I hope this helps, the source is HOLY & TRUE.

No matter where the name came from and what it means it still stands for what it is, EVIL. A demon is a demon with evil spirits and intentions.

In the bible Lucifer was an angel of light and music and when he rebeled against god with 1/3 of the angels they were all cast into hell and Lucifer was deemed Satan or the devil and the 1/3 fallen angels were then called his demonic followers. Basically they rebelled against god which makes them evil.

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, who fought back with his angels; but the dragon was defeated, and he and his angels were not allowed to stay in heaven any longer. The huge dragon was thrown out---that ancient serpent, named the Devil, or Satan, that deceived the whole world. He was thrown down to earth, and all his angels with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now God's salvation has come! Now God has shown his power as King! Now his Messiah has shown his authority! For the one who stood before our God and accused believers day and night has been thrown out of heaven. Revelations 12:7-10

Demons originated in heaven. They WERE (past tense being the operative) of God before they rebelled with Satan and were cast out of heaven. They CHOSE the wrong path. That is what made them evil, not their origins.
