I'm engaged and we meaning my and my fiance are still in the process of telling family and friends.
but I was wondering what is the reply supposed to be when people say congratulations?
cause I have just been saying thank you.
am I doing it right?

thank you is the right reply. if you feel like you want to say more...say, "thank you, we're really excited," or anything else to add to it, but just a big smile and a thank you is just fine!

I think that strictly speaking, it is the husband that should be congratulated, or at least that's what Dear Abby says. ^^

However, I think any form of thank-you is entirely appropriate. And if your soon-to-be husband is there, work in something like "Thanks, I'm so happy I finally found Mr. Right!" or some variation. It'll make him happy.

If someone expresses delight at your good news, thank them. It's as simple as that.
