I would not go that far, but it's definitely dangerous. Look at what occurs when Fundamentalism gets mixed with Islam (Iran, Osama Bin Laden) or with Judaism. The same dangers lurk when it gets mixed with Christianity. Fundamentalism only seeks power and control.

Fundamentalists want their brand of laws to be the law of the land. They believe we should all live under laws based on their religious interpretations. They are the ones who call for laws which remove and restrict the civil rights of law-abiding, tax-paying gay American citizens. These actions are harmful and result in pain and suffering to gay people. (You will know them by their fruits.) I don't see any other religious group trying to legislate their way into everyone's life.

No. Religion is the problem, fundamentalism simply exacerbates it.

All the religions with a 'jealous God' who demands to be worshipped by everyone and condemns any nonbelievers to death is a bad religion. It creates artificial in-group/out-group units, with the 'in-group' thinking of itself as better, more worthy, holy, etc. simply because of believing a given doctrine or practicing certain rituals.

The real enemy is not religion---it is the refusal of many religious groups to tolerate others whose opinions on the details do not agree with what they think is true. TRUTH is in the eye of the beholder....but should self-professed religious persons condemn all others as "missing the point"?? Hmmmmm....

Fundamentalism equals extreme behavior, fanaticism, self righteousness and ignorance. It is an enemy to human civilization, to the progress we have made in spirit and in mind... It should be treated with medications, as any other form of hysteria.

It depends on how you define fundamentalism. If it is someone who thinks that the Bible or Qur'an are the infallible Word of God, then no. If it is people who take parts of their religious text and turn them so they can incite violence, yes.

Not in my opinion. Fundementalism is often associated with radicalism. This is a falsehood, fundementalism strives to reconcile us with the basics of God's word, and in that sense it can be our best friend.

As in all doctrine, whether religious or civil, there are misconceptions. It is the misconceptions that are at the root of your fears or unrest.

Sin is the enemy of man, if there is one. Fundamentalism is just misguided thinking.

The enemy of man is ... each other.
