If your goal is to just lose weight, then I suggest doing aerobic activities 3-5 days a week AND two days of weights. The weights will burn a lot of fat and your legs will look so awesome.

But, I suggest that in addition to losing weight that you fit in firming too. No, it's nothing personal :) When you lose weight you are going to want to tighten those areas too. Pilates works great for me. I love it.

Write down what you are eating. Sometimes we fall into bad eating habits and don't realize it until we read what we are actually putting into our mouths.

You must be aware that you cannot make your stomach tight by doing crunches. Oh no, you may feel that it is sore the next day but crunches or sit-ups alone will not do the job. That's the idea of "spot reducing" and it doesn't work. You have to work on the whole body - cardio & weights.

Okay...I only started two Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 10 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. Of course I watch what I eat and the Lean Cuisine meals are great for that since the calories per box are 180 to 380 per box. Just make sure you eat healthy every three to four hours so your body will perform at its max.

Here it is:

Helpful Tips for weight loss:

1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

To tone your stomach down many people believe crunches are the only way however they will not work unless you add in daily cardio workouts.
There are many basic leg workouts but the most effective method is attaching small 5lb weights (they sell special ones for this purpose) while running, or doing other cardio exercises. This creates muscle and makes the legs look lean.
Diet is also very important for the stomach toning. Lots of fruits and veggies, and minimal bread products. Drink lots of water too!

Losing weight will take a combo of thing together. A meal plan, exercise, and a great cardio routine. You need to know your BMR (basil metabolic rate) this is the amount of calories the body needs to sit on the couch all day and do nothing. Then make sure you eat at least that amount of calories a day.NO LESS !!! Use this equation.
655 + ( 9.6 x weight ) + ( 1.8 X Height ) - ( 4.7 x age ) =
Then make sure that the calories you eat are good healthy calories. Lots of chicken, ground turkey, lean meats, oat meal, egg whites lots of fresh veggies. and lots of water.
If you have weight available to you then start lifting light weights, with high reps. about 15. adding some muscle will help you to burn more calories.
For cardio, you need to try to does at least 35 to 45 minutes a day, 5 times a week.
Try to eat healthy all week long, and pick one day to have a cheat meal, so that you are basically rewarding yourself for a great job all week. Good Luck. You can Do It !!

Combination of diet & exercise.

I recommend using elliptical machines. They are not hard on your joints, they give you a rigourous workout, and you can really feel it in the legs.

The best way to lose weight in the stomach area is to reduce calories, mainly fatty foods. Generally weight loss will manifest itself mostly in the stomach area. I personally don't recommend crunches until your stomach is close to being where you want it to be. Crunches tend to make a difference on those who already have reasonably flat stomach, but just want to tone.

You should drink water, sit-ups, but don't stop eating because after you stop for like 5 days and then start eating your stomach will try to save the food in places like your legs, thighs, stomach. Then you'll end up not losing weight but gaining weight and weight heavier then before. You can cut out one of your meals, or even add a meal, but eat less in every meal.

One exercise that targets the stubborn stomach area is called The Bicycle. To do The Bicycle, simply lay on the floor pressing your lower back to the ground. Your hands are beside your head. Bring your knees to an approximate 45-degree angle and slowly go through the motion of pedaling a bicycle. Read the rest of article here

I found that tightnening my stomach musclese as I walk and do things during my whole really helps. i can feel my ABS work as i go about my day. Leg raises and speed walking can help..just about anything that requires you to get a good sweat going. eating regularly helps, don't skip breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day. Don't miss meals, you trick your body into thinking that it will not get nourishment and it will use the most minimum of body fat or calories. but talk to nutritionalist or join a gym that does individual training. Not a fit freak but i like to keep in shape??? don't forget to drink lots of water or the recommended amount at least.

try to stop eating sweets and drinking cokes. Eat smaller meals through out the day (like 5 small meals rather than 3 full meals). Trust me by doing this you will drop weight. Also it doesnt matter how many crunches you do you still need to do alot of cardio to burn off the fat.
